The main goal of this software implementation is to take advantage of the screen in the “recent apps” section by putting into effect a dock of quick toggles.

This feature is designed for users who find it uncomfortable to slide the quick toggles menu in the notification bar, which is on the upper side of the screen and may be difficult to use with one hand.

The procedure is very simple; when the users enter the recent apps screen, there will be few quick toggles on the lower part, maybe four or five, which they can press and access them directly while switching apps. The dock could be on top of the “clear all” button and beneath the windows of the recent apps, which can be slightly moved towards the upper part of the screen.

The users could select which quick toggles they want, or even have different ones sliding to the right. It is just an accessibility feature focused on the one hand experience. There could also be option to add shortcuts to applications. Among the toggles, there could be Airplane Mode / Bluetooth / WiFi / Do Not Disturb / Torch / Screen Rotation / Night Mode / NFC…

This is something to help people use big screens, which are becoming increasingly popular and used among lots of people. The amount of content you can see with such screens is good, especially for social media and reading, but while using the device it is not ideal.

In the following photos it is shown how it would be implemented with gestures and a navbar:

For the full navbar option it would work the same.
