Quickcharge possible?

The processor allows for the quickcharge... and other phones such as the LG G4 did not have quickcharge to being with, they got it through a software update.
What are the chances to get quickcharge on the Oneplus two through a software update?
Having USB C without quickcharge is like having a Ferrari without gas. You appreciate the looks and functionality but can't drive it...

I did - there are threads mentioning native quickcharge (which is not the case as it wasn't announced) and no thread mentions a software update...

Technically yes but theoretically not ..if some dev makes kernel for it which will allow to alter USB charge rate then yeah but then its the components that matters most else it will affect battery life

Can you elaborate for those less technically savvy? Basically, does it mean that there would need to be a software update long with an improved charger, available at a later date?

Software update (may be /maybe not) but devs (people who design their own rom software apps etc) if they port kernel (software) which will allow to change USB charge rate then yes
