    It's not a typo. just clever marketing.

    To One Plus:

    1GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes so therefore:
    6GB = 6,000,000,000 bytes to One plus and their products.

    However. computers register a GB as

    1,073,741,824 bytes.

    So 6,000,000,000 / 1,073,741,824 = 5.6GB

    It's not just one plus. it's every company that makes hard drives and memory cards and any other storage media. a 32GB USB stick is never 32… but much less than that.

    That's not actual, more software manipulating than anything else to avoid questions like this one.

    Humans use a base 10 numerical system. Computers use a base 2 binary system.

    mine is 1.8… but that means nothing. you may have more programs running in the background than I do.

    Those combined with services such as push notifications and other Android processes will bring the amount down.

    Don't worry. you have plenty of RAM left and you shouldn't see any lock ups or slow downs.

    It's 3T one 5/5T will show 5.6
    But I think 3/3T was also showing 5.6 before few updates back. So 5/5T may also show 6 after some updates roll out.

    No other reason then the software forcing that screen to register as 6GB.

    In other words, giving the computer an if then that statement. If 1,000,000,000 bytes then display 1GB
