I've noticed this also, even with adaptive battery turned off apps have to be reopened after a short amount of time rather than staying open. I've also played Pokemon go and had Pandora close when running in the background... can't imagine how mad I would be if I was trying to work out. Not sure if it's an Android pie or OnePlus issue though.

I've noticed some RAM management issues as well. Maybe it's because I'm using Smart Boost. I guess I could try turning that off to see if it helps.

Locking apps doesn't really fix the problem. I lock all of my most important apps but they still reload.

    [FIX]

I saw bad ram management with Blokada adblock (VPN disconnected from time to time). I've been trying to fix it for a while, but it was still a problem.

Yesterday I found out SECOND battery optimization menu with ALL of the apps (including system ones). In there apps with normally battery optimization disabled have this ENABLED.

To get there I've used paid app Bouncer. In settings there is option "bouncer not working?". This menu looks like this. By tapping the upper button you'll get to this menu.

After three days of testing everything looks great and it's working without getting killed. Battery without change.

Same thing I am experiencing on my op6 6/64. It's really so annoying. How can I have a 6gb ram device and still have all my apps reloading.?

    Makes no sense whatsoever.

i have a OnePlus 6t 6Gb variant. though it has 6gb Ram but most of the time it refreshes apps. i switched from Galaxy s9+ to OnePlus 6t. I didn't face anything like this on the S9. Only 1.3-1.6 gb free memory is not enough. while i was getting 2.6gb free ram on the S9 and 2.2 Gb on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro(4gb ram). OnePlus should fix this through Software Updates ASAP

Man! I have the 8gb variant of the 6t too and I too am facing ram management issues. It refreshes apps sometimes after 10 minutes or sometimes after an hour. It can't even keep some basic apps in memory it's soo annoying. I really hope oneplus fixes this issue.
