Random constant reboots and other issues.

    Gavi , Dec 16, 2014 :
Is anyone else still having an issue with random reboots? I am on the latest version of CM (44s) and I have also tried a factory restore (without the full data wipe in recovery) with no success. My reboots have been happening since my first day with the device [ordered and delivered mid October, started using mid November].

I opened a ticket with tech support three weeks ago and still haven't gotten any response.

In addition, I am not able to send SMS messages, though I can receive them. I think this may be a carrier issue, that initially I was able to solve with them. After preforming the factory restore the problem returned and we have been unable to fix the issue - tried SIM reset and a bunch of other network side changes, as well as *#*#4636#*#* to "fix" the SMSC number.

Has anyone encountered these issues and know of a solution?

I'm already on CM11(44S)... How/why would I need to install it again?

You should to clean install. So try flashing the latest build of CM11S (44S) again. But you must install with fastboot method, maybe that will fix your issue. Please click on this link to Fastboot method.

What does fastboot mode do that could fix it?

I have no idea what twrp recovery is.

Just follow my previous link. A "newbie" like yourself apparentely should find sufficient instructions in the thread itself.

I'm not that much of a n00b, LOL. I've flashed CM on a phone before, but I never had to deal with the more complex intricacies and issues.

I'm reading the thread you posted now, but I am also looking at the links @mcsememo posted. What is the difference between what you suggested and a regular factory wipe?

A fresh start from fastboot using the tool in my link or point 8 in mcsememo's link is basically the same method.

    My link is easier though.

A factory wipe never fully clears all the (corrupted) data on your phone, while the methods in our posts do.

Good luck and should you need more help, don't be afraid to ask.

Do I need to download anything from CM or is everything I need included in the download? I wasn't able to tell from the instructions.

I had the same problems with my device. I don't really believe that you will be able to work this out by reflashing the rom through fastboot.
All CM and CM based roms gave me these issues so I end up with Color OS and the device is now stable.

If you get the same issues, flash Color OS. it will probably fix it.

Or try any recent CM12 alpha or beta build.

They are surprisingly stable. I've been using them for over a month.
Just make sure you update it every day or two since new blobs and commits are added on a daily basis.
