This is intersting. I had reboots on CM12 when I tried it couple of weeks ago. You say that the new versions fix it?
You had reboots and the latest CM12 builds are stable for you?

Yes, I understand that it is stable. The question is whether your device suffered from random reboots and this rom solve these issues?

If my device would suffer from random reboots, I surely wouldn't call a ROM stable in the first place... ;)

I didn't have any of these issues running a CM10.2 nightly on a 4 year old Samsung Galaxy S, so I am not sure what you are talking about.

So it seems like the reboots could actually be hardware based...

I'd say 99.9% of all random reboots are caused by software issues and not hardware problems.

Even for exemple if a phone reboots because it's overheating, you would think it's a hardware problem but it will most likely be caused by a faulty kernel. (Or a bad design of the motherboard, but this isn't the case with the OPO.)

It is supposed to reboot after the first step...

    Read the thread please.

"The device might reboot after this step has completed, if it does reboot you need to put the phone back into fastboot mode before continuing to the next step"

He wrote that the device rebooted itself after he flashed the rom, while setting it up.

Rebooted while I was entering my google account info, not supposed to happen.

    Also, rebooted another twice afterwards.

I am not able to update the phone OTA to 44S and I'm stuck on 38R. Anyone know why?

If it reboots after a complete reset I would file an RMA claim.
Link to this thread so they aware that it's not a software issue.

It's very rarely the case but it seems like you are indeed suffering from hardware failure.

Should you want to manually update to 44S, flash the following file: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95784891001607927

Why won't it automatically update to the latest version?

Edit: five hours later I get an update notification. Still having reboots.

    UPDATE:

After a back and forth with support last week, a remote access session where they wiped the kernel and did a fastboot install that didn't help, I got an RMA number!

Lets hope I don't get another lemon.
