    hey there guy,

ai use the OP 5at, and this is the second time random photos got deleted from just one folder, the others are unchanged.
and before you begin the comments, I know about the storage manager option and I did had it on the first time, I get that, but ever since it was off, so I don't get why they got deleted now.
any thought on what I can do and if there is a way to recover them?
is there another hidden option that wipes files?
the folder had more than 2.000 pictures and now only 10 remained in the same folder, no error, no warning.

I know, and I usually do, the camera pics I backup daily, but this still doesn't explain the random deleting with no warning.

    Neather can I
Try searching, maybe you find something...
As of now you can't recover them if you know for sure they where deleted...
Maybe you have some malicious app that does that?

I'll connect the phone to the PC and search, now I only noticed they are missing from the gallery and recently deleted folders.
do you have a recommendation for malicious problems?

You said you had this problem before so you can't easily trace possible malicious apps and it's hard to trust mobile antivirus apps in general so your best bet would be to make a backup of important data and factory reset without restoring your Google backup...
This way you manually install all apps from the play store and don't redownload everything you had before you did it...

like I said, the first time it happened I had "storage manager" activated and that delete stuff older then 90 days. I'll think about the factory reset, but for now I'll backup daily...I think I might switch to OP 7T in the fall if it launches :)

So maybe this "wallpaper app" is deleting them? And why do you store 2000 pictures in such folder? ;)

now that you mention it, I did uninstall the app and wanted to backup the wall to the hdd, but that should modify my phone storage...as for the "why" I like to change my phone wall a couple of times a week, keep it looking fresh :)

That could have been the source of the issue...
The app must have taken the folder with it

As for the changing wallpaper part you can use Shot on OnePlus to make your wallpaper change daily with new ones that users captured and uploaded

that's just it, there were 10 files remaining in the same folder, that's why it's weird.

I did try that, but I have more specific taste in wallpapers than just photos.

If you haven't backed them up before, the only way is to use Android data recover program, which is specially designed for Android and has powerful method to detect the deleted data from trash bin.You could preview and choose the target files to recover on computer.
