Hello @Crystal Z. and thank you for this detailed recap. It was a pleasure to meet you all online. Hopefully we ll be able to meet in real life soon, i still prefer "offline Meetings" where we can talk to each other directly and can discuss all that stuff for longer time. But i think we got some great results and i m pretty sure that we ll get some interesting camera related changes soon.

Before starting a rant you should better check your sources, read the announcement more carefully and post at the right place.

why is there no easy way to change aspect ratio like previous models? I have already missed shots because of having to fumble around in settings to go from 1:1 to full. Can we get that quick menu back please? it had flash, aspect and timer on it; all of which were most convenient

My question here is: Who s shooting in 1:1 format? It s out of use since good old 6x6 film format camera we had in the 1960 area? Or do you just want to post in instacrap? If so, insta app is cropping your picture automatically in this format, so what? The sensor build into our devices has still the standard aspect ratio: 4:3 - all other ratios (16:9 / 1:1 etc ) are cropping the picture and you re loosing a lot of information. Zooming into such a cropped picture is giving worse results too, so technically it s not a good idea at all. So best is- shoot all pictures in 4:3 ( Sensor s full size and best possible quality ) and crop later with an app you prefer. ( YaImCo, snapseed, or some other...)
But in one point i agree with you- i also preferred the OP7 Pro UI in camera mode, especially the access to the photochrome camera is very bad implemented.

I shoot in 1:1 for social media purposes; specifically to market my produce on Instagram. If you don't use it, that's cool. But, it has kept me in business this entire shutdown by being able to reach my customers. So, 1:1 is a most valid format; considering it allows for my shot composition without further editing. See @sosiosproduce on Instagram as a reference. The downside for my usage is that I also enjoy using 4:3 and full aspect as well; depending on how I am interpreting the world around me. So, if I see a shot as I am leaving work, or wherever, I have missed a few because I was in the incorrect format. In the real film genre, 1:1 aspect ratios for medium format cameras are invaluable for resolution. This is irrelevant for your statements, but it is something, as an amateur, that you might like to know.

My point being that a menu bar for the convenience of selecting timer, format and flash would be great for some of the more versatile photographers using the "8" after having used the 6t for the past few years.
