Check to see if you didn't enable "Deep clean" on accident.

Are you using Battery Optimization? If you have Battery Optimization on, or especially Advanced Battery Optimization, this will typically shut off apps in the background that are using up battery.

If you have enabled sleep mode then it clears the ram to reduce battery consumption.

    up !

I have the same problem (Android Pie) with :
    - Advanced optimization: off
    - Sleep standby optimization: off
    - Adaptive Battery: off
    - Settings > system > developer options > background process limit > standard limit
    - Settings>advanced>recent app management>normal clear

    And I also applied that:
    https://www.xda-developers.com/bring-back-vertical-recent-apps-oneplus-6/

Nothing has worked (including with an old oneplus launcher), recent apps are cleared (except the last 3 or 4 used) after a while (at night for example).

Anyone know how to go back to managing recent apps like in Android 8 (don't auto-clear old apps used in recent apps)?

    Thanks

Disable the second option. But this is only to reduce standby usage at night.

Then I don't think anything is left now. It just closes apps to save battery. I will try turning all these options for myself and will let you know but I don't have any issues closing apps in night because who needs to keep it open in night even if you are not using it.

    Thank you.
However, it didn't work like that with Android 8 and I preferred the old one.
I regularly had more than 10 cards open at the same time without the operating system closing them without warning!

I already had the problem with Android 9.0.0 as much as with Android 9.0.2!

Can we easily downgrade from Android 9.0.2 to Android 8 without deleting the entire phone?
