    - Advanced optimization: off

    - Adaptive Battery: off
    - Settings > system > developer options > background process limit > standard limit
    - Settings>advanced>recent app management>normal clear"

I have a Note 8 and on my phone you have to go to Settings / Device Care then three dots menu and go to Auto Optimization and disable it.

This closes all your recent apps (except most recent), overnight or whatever time you set by Schedule.

I hope this helps you guys!
    Good luck!

Same behaviour here with the 8gb ram version. It's a shame a smartphone with nearly stock Android and with so much ram having this issue. I too have Advanced optimizations and adaptive battery off. Tried clean and dirty oos flash without success. If someone have any idea or find a solution please post here.

OnePlus too aggressively manages the shutdown of applications in the background AND does not seem to respect the application exclusion settings of battery optimization!

It's not Android 9 that's the problem, but the memory optimizations that OnePlus implements!

Ya, it's very aggressive in terms of memory management. It's even more in Android Pie than Oreo. It even kills the apps which are just opened 20min ago. It seems more like EMUI optimization.

I have the same problem, I would like to have a few apps always running. But once in a while they have to reload when I choose them from the recent app menu. Seems almost like a RAM utilization problem, but the RAM is far from overutilized. Has anoyone made a bug report?

This dysfunction is really harmful when you use your smartphone for home automation: you no longer receive intrusion alerts, for example!

It's really very boring! Will I have to change my phone to solve this problem (Xiaomi / Huawai)?

No, I personally didn't open a bug because I'm not good enough in English!^^

Could it be because of Smart boost being enabled? Check one plus labs in settings/system/utilities

I know it's for 6/6T, but does it matter? I'm talking about the same problem in the same operating system. If I have another model (OnePlus 7) it's clear it's an oxygenOS problem.

Although the ticket I opened is for OnePlus 7, if more people like it or comment inside it will make OnePlus to see it and address the problem.

If we open a new thread for the same problems but for different forums...
