I would think if the rumor mill was true they would go for a higher quality panel maybe qhd or something at least as to not downgrade people. Throw in 821 and some other improvements and have op4 with that while they are at it. But really I don't know much but I would think they have to order all of their parts way ahead of time in huge quantity to get any kind of cost effectiveness and efficiency. You don't build phones and just slap a different part into it and call it a day. You have to engineer it from ground up and also program the software to run on this different set up. It would be an entirely different phone by that point.we will see soon but I would think they would just trickle out what they can if their was a shortage and then just release the next OnePlus.

Help me understand....if sales are good on the device, why won't supply companies manufacturer components only a few months into a release of your new device?

Are you not confident in the product you put out to commit to another order of components?

Small company....yeah. I would be upset to know there is already something better out a few months later from the company I just purchased my device from a few months back. Seems like a dick move if true.

Demand for AMOLED is higher in 2016 than what the industry has planned for, after an overall weaker than expected AMOLED demand in 2015. Factory capacity was cut as a result of this. Thus, leads times have increased dramatically.

So when we saw the strong demand for the OnePlus 3, we immediately started increasing our AMOLED orders but now the supply will arrive much later vs. the dynamics we were under in 2014 and 2015. Therefore, it still takes us up to a month to deliver OnePlus 3 orders being placed today, which is a really bad shopping experience for a product that's been on the market for a few months already.

The 'strong demand' for the 3 wasn't expected ?

You really have low expectations from buyers then. :expressionless:

I'm glad I get OnePlus phones delivered in a day from Amazon India and don't have to wait for shipping :D

Those who had OPO's and were either waiting out for the 3 to replace theirs or skipped on the 2 for reasons known best to them were going to give the 3 a chance.

Same for the OP2 users who where looking to upgrade.

You really should've expected the demand. ;)

Hopefully you will find a quick solution, demand seems to be very high via the O2 stores as well, it would be a shame to see that suffer at such a great time for you in the UK.
I'm enjoying my gold. Hopefully others will soon.
    Good luck.

    Just rumors.

I don't trust stupid "news" rumor articles where I see "according to an analyst" :p

Temporary setbacks are always fine as long as you don't falter on your principles. The reason we're in this situation is because we focus on creating good products, and are lucky enough that the market agrees.

Shame shame. I can't imagine folks who bought your OP3 a few months ago are going to be happy knowing there is already a better device out from the company they just bought their device from. Kinda makes people feel like they got lesser version of your "new model".

I understand your point about the shopping experience (and agree) but coming with something new this soon seems like a bit of a slap to the people that support you.

I hope you offer those customers a (fair) trade in program for their devices if they choose to get the OP3 V2. Their tech shouldn't be outdated inside of 6 months.
