Sound through headphones is too quiet, I know they changed it recently but it's too low.

I get louder audio from my Pixel C and Shield TV through headphones, it's almost lifeless even maxed out on the OP5T.

    Morlaf and armandcatalan like this.

Cable, yes I'm using the latest update.

I know they announced they were reducing the volume in the Oreo update but they've gone too far.

ive noticed dramatic volume drop after Oreo update. I bought Bluetooth headphones cause of that and I havent checked the latest update yet. I'm a bit scared that they might did the same thing with Bluetooth sound

Maybe you should see a doktor... having the sound that high is not healthy at all... Mine is at 20% and is more than enough together with a Bose Headset.

I'm currently experiencing the same sound reduction om my phone. Usually I'm listening to either Spotify or YouTube on the bus with a bluetooth headset, but since the latest update it's difficult to hear it properly. I believe the sound is about 50 - 60% of what it originally was..

I get a similar problem. Headphone volume from apps like Spotify is fine but calls are maybe 20% of the app volume. I can't find any way to turn up the volume as it says maxed out for music. The result is I have to crank up the volume on my speakers to hear the call and then as soon as the call is over I about lost my hearing the music comes back on so loudly.

Well I've been rooted since I got this phone.
I turned up the Headphone gain to 20 db with exkernel. Now it's plenty loud. Use funk wizards tutorial on this site to unlock bootloader and root, and then do a twrp backup before experimenting.

Out of all my Android devices the OnePlus 5T is the lowest volume by far, the music feels like it's lacking depth/punch.

It should be our choice, even Google and Samsung devices are louder than this, I don't have to max them out because max volume on those devices would be a little uncomfortable.

I don't understand why OnePlus had to go quite so low, I start listening to music on my OP5T and then actually change to another device to enjoy the music properly which is not ideal.
