Making this type of committment, indeed even responding to the question makes 1+ stand out from all the other manufacturers. They are usually non committal and treat their customers as though they were industrial spies. Well done 1±. This has further convinced me to purchase once I get my invitation.

Well... they also said that the silver bullets headphones were to be available at mid october. One month after that date actual owners of an OPO have only had a couple hours window (without previous advice) to buy them. I say actual owners as they were available for preorders which hurts me even more.

I hope they keep their promises with Lollipop and we can see a reliable and stable OPO version soon.

For what it's worth, I went to the T-Mobile store to switch sim cards to my new OP. It came with CM 25. The manager who really in well informed and even tried to buy an OP with an invite that a customer gave him advised me .Since 25 works fine- no need to upgrade. Wait until the next stable version comes out which will be android L. THEN WAIT 2 months, He said why be a guinea pig to face all the bugs. It took apple 3 tries to get ios 8 right. I still can not get google music manager to work on mavericks. ( A known bug). When I upgraded my ipad to ios 7 it froze during installation and I lost all my apps. I will not upgrade to 8 until the President of the US says it will work. I had to load everything thru itunes and wasted a lot of time for nothing. It still works like an ipad. It is better to be safe than sorry. I just love this phone (so far)

Encryption is not set by default. You're talking about new SELinux policies that set the default kernel to enforced status. The solution is to flash a custom kernel like AK, set to permissive. Chainfire will certainly solve this, but for now on Nexus for example if you want to keep default kernel you must root using CF Autoroot, meaning using a computer.

First few weeks after Android Lollipop launch will uncover some bugs for Nexus devices. Old devices like Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 2012 will give more problems than newer ones.
I suggest to wait for some time to get lollipop more sweeter and polished.

Cyanogen brought my Nexus S back to life. I cant imagine what it will be like on a phone it is custom made to run it.
