I just watched the whole OnePlus 8 Series launch event. The Google Feed on OnePlus 8 instead of the OnePlus Shelf seems more useful to me personally.
Any idea that will this change be available for 7T someday?

If it comes, it'll probably be after the release of the One Plus 8 series.

I love and use the OnePlus shelf everyday! I am so sad it is gone for Google discovery.... So useless for me..

I appreciate the idea of Shelf, but for last X years I always had Google Now feed "on the left" and used it a lot to catch up with news. So bringing it to 7T would make me very happy. We all know it's just a case of small update.

I really hope they don't make this a forced option. Personally I really love the shelf, it's a killer feature for me and outright removing it will suck.

This is hardly available in other launcher as well (page with infinite bottom scrolling for widgets) and it's an absolute must have for me.

I'm Team Shelf all day. The same way iMessage locks iPhone users in, while there's a lot to be said about why people go back time and time again to OP. For me one of those reasons is the sheer convenience of Shelf, I use it for notes, weather, parking, boarding passes and anything else I can add to that screen. So I would prefer they keep it and give us the option of that or Google Discovery. For me having Google as an assistant is enough. Shelf was enough to make me feel comfortable letting go of my Note. Just my two cents.

I've had Google Discovery on my left screen pane since I got the phone in January. Must be a regional thing since my device came from T-Mobile.

I've never done it but in my launcher settings I do have an option to enable or disable the left most screen. I'd never gone into it but there is an option inside there to change between Discover and Shelf. Cool. :)

It's the TMobile edition which comes with the feed instead of the shelf. I wasn't aware of the differences between McLaren and regular 7T the other users are reporting. I thought the launcher was the same.

this is ridiculous. I get use to OnePlus shelf and Google feed is very bad it takes the battery and feed you with chosen news by them. basically Google controling and feeding you the news and topic they want user's to see. this is wrong. I disabled it. but OnePlus shelf and parking was very good and useful

The Shelf is BEYOND USELESS for me and many people. Putting a ton of widgets to compensate for the lack of basic functionality available in the Google Feed is even worse for the battery than having a simple scrollable feed!!!

And don't get me started on your tinfoil hat about "Google controlling you", it can only provide news articles based on what you do.

lol. at least do a bit research also . feed keeps updating and refreshing on background. and if you don't like shelf don't use it. but that's something OnePlus had on their phone for many years and we get use to it. also for me who use the parking location on the shelf it was very useful.
