So I bought a screen from Vifocal and gave it to a friend that repairs phones for a living too repair it, after he installed the screen he told me that it booted up, but showed low battery, he charged it for awhile and started it again but it.. simply died, any clues?

it charges about 15%/hour with a non oneplus charger (yes even 2.1A, wierd) so could it be that he didn't charge it enough? We'll be trying again tomorrow night when it charged for a longer time, but doubt it will work :/ kinda clueless atm, stuck with a crappy samsung.,. anyone knows anything that is "common" or easy too miss when replacing the screen that would cause this issue?

How about you try charging it with a oneplus charger first?

little confusing to understand but if you refer to problems with battery, use original charger and cable(both a must), leave it overnight and then try to boot next day. if you can't charge the phone with original charger, try to search the forums. As long as I remember, there were few threads about how to fix battery problems.

Okay so I charged it for 12 hours with original charger, didn't help. I also did a boot cycle (hold power button for 20sec 5 times) didn't work either. any ideas?

When you say you did the boot cycle, you mean a hard reset right? Press and hold volume down and power button for 20 secs?

Tried both, what I meant was a power cycle.

Is the charger light on when you are charging it?

What happens when you connect it to the computer?

Does it show up in device manager?

Try the link I posted above. You have to follow the instructions and not be tempted to try and turn the phone on. Good luck.

I don't mean to bash your friend's repair skills, but maybe something went wrong during the screen replacement? Maybe try to have another professional take a look at it if all else fails.

    Good luck.

    It does not

Will try that, I can't really do step 3 though (charge for 6hours) since I work 12 hours shifts right now, it shouldn't matter if I leave it in for 14hours though right?

My thought aswell, kinda worried about that. But he told me there were some wierd chinese icons and later a 0% battery icon so that should be the same thing that SoniaB had in his movie, will try his solution!

I don't think that matters as much as leaving it idle no charging, no touching it. That is the most important part and then the initial charge.

Well, let's see how it turns out.. Try the complete charge and power cycle first... Also, just FYI... @SoniaB is a "she"... not a "he" :p
