Thanks, it wasn't showing as pinned when I wrote that.
Yeah its pinned but off-topic has a lot of pinned threads so it will move a bit depending on posts in other threads.
Don't worry about that, I'll keep bumping it lol
Unnecessary or uncalled bumping is violation of rules
I wasn't really going to do it
But the thought of getting a warning is tempting me...
Like I said before on the forum, it's easily enough done.
Also, if you are asking for one, then you can hardly complain when one is given.
Lets move back to being on topic now
On the context of warnings...
Can mods get warnings? If they can, how is it similar/different from a user getting one?
Yes we can. Moderators have added permissions to moderate that does not mean that forum rules do not apply to us. They do.
If a moderator is reported then it's handled by a senior mod. If it's a senior mod then the local head mod will deal it, if it's the local head mod then it's gusuraman job. If it's him reported then it's an admin/David Y action.
control your enthusiasm of having all the mods in one place lol.
Back on topic...
So I have started to follow the new rules, mainly the odd photo report, advertising, merge with thread in the report and rudeness/abuse where I see it without comment to fuel any thread.
Can I have my report badge level 1 now please and oneplus branded lollipop?
post #21 in this thread covered some of this x
Not exactly. Post #21 only asks who actions the warning, not the result. I know what I ask (most of the time)
And what happens (differently from a user) if one deserves a punishment? Not sure if I'm allowed to ask this though.
but not on topic this is report etiquette go to pm or woho??
Idk, I thought it was fairly under "reporting", if required, will shift the conversation elsewhere.
good idea it's all you in here, no offence intended lol
mods please delete these posts to get this back on topic
I will answer for now, but @idkwhoiam322 anything further not related to the thread basically on how to report, then please PM me.
Mods are subject to the same forum rules as anyone else.
Mods can be warned by higher ranked mods. The warnings and periods they are there for is the same as anyone else.
If a moderator is clearly acting in a way that does not befit the role of a moderator then ultimately that is for admins to act on. Namely the Community Manager.
That will be dealt with privately and by them.
Well now we know that lately moderators have been getting more annoyed on 'reports' instead of 'why no update'.
Not annoyed actually but the report function was being mis-handled a lot and therefore this thread. Moderators are still happy to deal with reports but there has to be a "good practice" which needs to be followed.
The reasons for this thread are well detailed in the first 2 posts.
We are not annoyed about reports. This is a community and its great that everyone wants to have it clean and tidy. We all work as a team. How reports were being generated and the reasons for those reports were not always clear nor valid. Hence the reason for this thread.
"why no update" thread if reported, then report reason should be as detailed in the examples given.
They will still be acted on in the same way.
Thanks to all who have been following this...very helpful
