For battery, I see everyone recommending Sultan's CM12.1.

Battery life is amazing. I could get home after a full day's work with light usage of my phone and still be above 90%.

i've seen already many polls and people voted exodus to be best for battery, and i hear everybody say it aswell
didn't even see sultan on the list anywhere
anyway, i have exodus and compared to stock CM for OPO, exodus is better, in terms of battery
but the battery depends on the user, if you tweak your processor and clean your device and use it right you can get better battery life results

SlimLP is out of the race of the race because of the missing Theme Engine, but Exodus seems pretty good to me.

can't you just download the theme engine ?
i thought the theme engine is the app itself, not a feature of a ROM

That or if your looking for features as well as battery life I currently would recommend the Unofficial Euphoria ROM based off Sultan's Kernel and optimizations.

I only charge my phone for 15 minutes on my first and last break, and on my 1 hour (technically 45 minutes of charging since I drive home and back) lunch break. I came into work at 1 and I get off at 10, it's 6:43 right now and I'm still on 98%.

I tried it and personally didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I also prefer the CM theme engine.

Just a warning: if you flash Sultan's ROM, you won't be able to capture RAW shots and 2+ seconds slow shutter photos anymore.

AOSP based ROMs tend to have really good battery life, but I can't get around the fact it uses Layers theme engine either. I need to change my icons. If I can't customize my icons then customizing everything else is kind of pointless to me.

That and battery life isn't what it is cracked up to be. It is definitely above average, but for best battery I'd say the winner is Sultan's ROM & Sultan based ROMs, like Unofficial CAF Euphoria.

yeah unfortunately it does
it has contentguard
it didn't have it on 5.0, they started using it with 5.1
but its no big deal as you can simply disable it with 1 xposed module

I highly recommend BrokenOS. Having really good battery life paired with RenderCAF kernel. I've used Sultan, Xenon, & Unofficial, and BrokenOS has been the best in terms of my usage. Usage varies from texting, tapatalk, light gaming, heavy whatsapp, and internet.
