    Hi all,

Many users try to mod everyday the OPO to have more performance and battery life, changing roms, kernel, and other tweeks.

Well, i just remembered that i previous had a smartphone from ELEPHONE, P8 model, and some DEV did an unique MOD to the ROM:

    - They added the graphical feature to change the HD Resolution from 1080 to 720, just with a click over the menu.

    + Overall Performance Increased
    + Benchmarks Results Increased
    + Game Performance Increased
    + Battery Life Increased

Maybe someone can do or request this MOD to our OPO ?

    ;) Cheer's !

EDIT: I was checking and it wasnt the ELEPHONE P8, it was another Chinese Phone Model under Android 4.2 but..still the idea.

With root access you can change the dpi (not the resolution) but i don't know how much will improve performance

Would like to see that too but some people aren't even happy with 1080P and want 2K or 4K so basically it won't happen sadly..

    Why ?

Because some guys are "noob users", others are "passive users", others are "advanced users", and..keep on .

Not all have the great performance you report, and not all cant tweak the phone to have more stamina.

Its so good to go under options and just select "power save mode", all one can do it for sure.

Why not go under options and select "change resolution to 720i\p" ?

"simple to access mods", great results.

    Why MORE ?

Because for better things, we want allways more.

NOTE: I use glasses in front of my eyes...maybe im just the one who cant see clearly the difference between a 4K detail and a 1080 or even 720 detail in a picture of a 5.5 inch phone :)

Keep requesting ! If someone help to share, go ahead.

Okay but I don't think it's possible. I maybe wrong but I thought the resolution was set by the number of pixels across the screen if it has 1080 pixels across the screen how would you change that to 720 to hit your 720 resolution.

Its possible the same way that a 60" TV plays SD resolution from antena TV and HD resolution or 4K resolution from a blueray .

Even its upscalling or some other tecnhical name, it worked good on the other smartphone i had and the users were to much impressed.

Would be a nice idea to implement this natively, or in some sort of power saving mode (not just the built-in one that only changes cpu and some other stuff)

if your that worried about battery life, turn your phone of, and only turn it on once a month to see if you imaginary friends have text you.. that way youll get a good 4 years battery life!! some epic shit there...

If you want to set the resolution, just instal is terminal emulator (any kind), and your phone must be rooted too.

    Then just type :
    $ su
    # wm size 720x1280
    (enter)

Done. However, you need to adjust the DPI too, because lowering resolution makes everything looks bigger. I have that feature on my CM12.1, if you don't have it on your ROM, i'm sure there are plenty information in internet about how to adjust DPI using terminal emulator.

    Cheers!
