What is your gut feeling about OxygenOS being able to deliver? I'm giving them a go, have always liked to support the underdog.

I really hope so but the best bet might be on custom ROMs.

There are some questions I have about the Chinese version of the OPT and the European/Asian version. Firstly, the dual sim is active on the European version and standby on the Chinese version. I've read that the Chinese version has longer battery life as a result. Secondly, some people have said that the Chinese version supports band 20, although the developers have denied this.

    Excellent review!
I have the OPT too and I can confirm everything you said.
I notice also, the octacore processor (4 slow and 4 fast cores), is running only with 2 fast cores at the same time, so is actually an exacore processor, plus, after the phone heats a bit (>45C) the fast cores just go sleep....
I also have problems with my fingerprint sensor. Sometimes (when it works of course) it just "forget" my fingerprint and I'm not able to unlock the phone. Sometimes when I wake up the phone with double tap, the home button wont work! >.<
Another bug I found, in some apps, the rotation sensor is not working.
OxygenOS is not ready for daily use... I could say is a beta (not even a RC)....
Thanks Sid for this objective review! It will help people to attend during the waiting of the invite.

Good review, liked your analogy of the car engines. Pretty much the same as my thoughts.
Like why buy a performance car, with the throttle limited.........pointless!

That's hit and miss as you've pointed out. Shame you can't double tap the screen to switch it off as well as on. LG has that function.
