Hi, I have just got my new One plus 9R yesterday. Today, I tried saving my Instagram story and generally the minute I click on save, the photos used to get saved in a folder called Instagram in Google photos/ gallery. (I previously had one plus 5).
Now, I have tried everything from force stopping the system apps - gallery, Google photo and Instagram app and then rebooting. But nothing. I can see my photos saved under "files/pictures/Instagram" folder but doesn't show under Google photos/ gallery. Funnily, when I save the Instagram stories videos (regular, boomerang, etc) they do show up in the folder called Instagram but just not the static photos. Can someone help.

Enable the show hidden files option in the file manager app.

And delete .nomedia file in that folder you mentioned

Done that too at the start. Nothing works. I also checked for .nomedia file. It wasn't there anyway. :(

Hi Ruqhaiya, thank you for responding. But I am a little skeptical in sharing my log details here on a public forum. Is there any other alternative that you have?. Also, this is happening on all other OnePlus 9R phones and even Nord. So can you get Hands-on with an actual phone and try resolve it . And whatever the solution is I will follow that?

Hi...I am using Oneplus 7 Pro. Facing same issue. It was working fine a week back. Suddenly it's not showing in the gallery now. Upgrading to Oxygen OS 11 was the one only recent change.

Hi Ruqhaiya, hope you are well. I am facing a similar issue in Nord2 5G. The saved Instagram pictures are not appearing in Gallery / Google Photos App unless I reboot the phone. FYI, the 'save original post' feature is enabled in my Instagram account. Also, in the File Manager App, the 'show hidden files' option is enabled. Please help!

Hello! I had a similar issue with WhatsApp. It didn't show the pictures and the root folder after the update to Android 11.
You need to update oneplus gallery on play store. It was solved with that.
Go to settings, apps, show all apps, 3 vertical dots, show systems apps. There you can see oneplus gallery. Click it, go to play store and update the gallery.
Nevertheless, this update are making my folders go crazy and messy.

To see my saved Instagram photos, I use a third-party file manager. This is not the most convenient solution, but it works. I also use igtv image maker to create colorful previews for my videos.
