First of all, you should always use a screen protector. There's a limit to screens ability to withstand scratches.

Using glass back phones without cases and screen protector is not wise.

    Just my opinion.

GG 5 can withstand coins and keys from scratching your phone but not the sand or any dirt in your pocket.

As Jerryrigeverything says "Scratches at level 6, with deeper grooves at a level 7"
Looks like the screen protector may still be on??? At least it appears so in your picture.

While in regular use, if you carry your Phone in your Pocket or keep it alongwith Key-ring or coins which is most likely the case for most of us then try to keep both separately now.

Additionally, it is not covered or considered in warranty for such damages.

I'm afraid, you shouldn't have removed the pre-applied screen guard or if you had done so, then should have immediately applied a new one.

Unless if you can afford to replace the actual screen of the phone in the event of a damage then that's your personal choice.

Hey there, Glass is Glass, and Glass scratches, even Victus gets scratches
You should ideally use a screen protector to save device from scratches

Point to be noted. :) Some may think it's a business opportunity but on the other hand it is a necessity for many.
