Screen issues with the OnePlus 7 Pro

So I noticed some issues with the display of the OnePlus 7 Pro. I really like dark and gradient wallpapers, this is how I discovered the problem, with a lot of gradient and dark wallpapers the are issues with the separation between a very dark tint and black, so since it's an OLED display black pixels turn are just turned of, the problem is dark pixels are turned off too.
I tried to use the same wallpaper with my 5T and my girlfriends Galaxy S8 and neither of them had this issue while both use an OLED display. The issue isn't display setting related since it happens on all the display modes and also with DC dimming on or off.
I also had my device replaced for a couple reasons about a week ago and I noticed the same issue on both devices so it's either a software issue or an issue with the 7 Pro's display. I also attached the wallpaper and a picture of my phone with this wallpaper where you can see it's weird behavior (In reallife it more noticeable but you can at least kinda see what I mean)

So in short: dark tints are blacked out instead of darkened and some gradients are behaving weird.

Some other issue I found which is kinda similar; on the lockscreen most wallpapers are weird to, I think this has to do with with the greed dot when scanning your fingerprint but I was hoping this could get a work around. (and may e also a workaround for the different display mode and night mode)

I've been noticing this too, I thought it's something normal with oled displays but I guess not, have you find a solution?

I just wrote a bug hunter, hoping that is software related... I'll let you know if I figure out something else.

yea so about that, probably is a limitation set by how DC dimming works

(turning it off seems to fix it)

I noticed it on ny 7t, i think it's normal when DC dimming is enabled, just simply based on my surface level understanding of how DC dimming works but if anyone can show otherwise I'd like to learn more

though i read u also have it without DC dimming enabled, does it look exactly the same or is one less bad than the other?

Turning that off doesn't make any change in this issue... Still no answer from anyone. And still annoying me not being able to see black photos as they should.

Anyone with Android 10 already noticing any difference?

I'm facing this same issue with my 7 pro too when I decrease brightness and go to the play store and stuff with DC dimming enabled I had like small dark dots around the screen and a big one in the bottom left side of the screen with DC dimming disabled it just became less visible but it's still there.

And my DC dimming has never been activated, so this can't be the issue..

Same, Tell me if these images look weird on your screen:
Looks weird, green/gray boxes/shapes on the left side

This one looks fine on my screen, no artifacts

Looks fine at first but look at the bottom-right&bottom-left, many shades of white/black meet and it looks weird.

(Images removed, uploaded to imgbb due to oneplus' terrible compression, READ THE DESCRIPTION OF EACH IMAGE!!)

I still like to believe this is a software bug, maybe kernel issue, because as proven by the fire and pendulum images, they look completely fine/even really good but for the most part the screen looks weird. I mean if its a hardware issue the EVERY image should look weird.

CAN ALL OF YOU PLEASE POST your EXACT Model number? I have a thesis.

Mine: GM1910 has OXYGEN OS, problem present on both Android 9&10 (Custom ROMS make no difference/worse).

    — PS: Sometimes the fingerprint reader is visible on white/gray images (though very weak so it doesn't bother at all and is acceptable to some degree, still stupid though)
Amazing phone but I feel like they absolutely trashed when it came to the most important part → the display.
IMHO Oneplus should refund everyone with this issue or offer a repair regardless of their warranty status, this is possibly a manufacturing mistake and we decided to give 1+ a chance.

    SliinQ , Dec 29, 2019 :
I am seeing similar effects on my device. I have a GM1913 model with OOS 10.0.2.GM21BA. Most of the artifacts seem to be a side effect of a fluid AMOLED, for instance the banding in the 6th image you posted. I have tested the same images on a Mi9T Pro and that device does pretty much the same. I am not sure if this can be fixed with software, but this is something I could accept.

However another issue I'm having with my device is that the display gets a greenish tint from a certain brightness level and lower. The colors look washed out, and IMO really bad and since I generally use my phone with a lower brightness (even half brightness in a normally lit room irritates my eyes) this really annoys me.
Here is a video of this issue: https://gfycat.com/unluckyplushcaimanlizard
Do you have this as well?

If this is an issue with all OP7P devices I might have to return mine. And since the camera is also worse than I had hoped, I'm thinking about getting a S10 instead. Too bad because I really like the community around Oneplus devices.

I just noticed that with DC Dimming enabled the green tint doesn't show up. However this does result in way less details on lower brightness levels.

No this is not a side effect of AMOLED, this is not normal and is a hardware defect/manufacturing issue.
