Screen off gestures - bypasses phone unlock security?

I've got Fingerprint, Face Unlock and PIN enabled on my phone. They are all tested and work fine.

I also have Screen Off Gestures enabled (specifically "V" to "Record a video" and "S" to launch GCam). I've noticed that when I activate the Screen Off Gesture, and it successfully brings up the associated app, once I exit the app, it goes straight into the home screen, bypassing any of my unlock security.

I've tested with some non-camera apps as well (Outlook), with the same result.

I'm running Nova Launcher, not sure if this has anything to do with it (I doubt it though).

    Does this affect anybody else?

Do you have the OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro?
If OnePlus 7: Face Unlock is almost instant, so it makes sense that the phone would unlock through this method as soon as you use a gesture.
If OnePlus 7 Pro: I just tested this myself and it requires me to unlock the device before the app opens. Might be a bug on your device and I'd suggest possibly factory resetting. Perhaps removing your unlock methods and then re-adding them, or turning gestures off and back on again might help as well.

OnePlus 7 Pro here. I specifically turned the phone away from my face when testing this to make sure it wasn't picking me up. Also confirmed that the camera didn't pop up.

thanks for testing. good to hear it's not community-wide.

Thank you. I'm new here, can you point me toward how to report this? Do I simply post a thread to Support->OnePlus 7 Pro, or is there a specific method to get this info over to them?

You can submit a bug report at https://forums.oneplus.com/feedback/. There's a link there for submitting a bug. Hopefully it's not too widespread, this sounds pretty bad! Sorry you ran into it :/
