M1606670940237 , via OnePlus 8T , Jan 5, 2021 : When I watch any content on Youtube,Netflix or any other streaming app or even when I watch any video stores locally into my device I see weird patterns like circular or line patterns in the background. I think it is because of screen tearing. Can it be solved via a software update or is it a hardware thing?

Tokolozi , Jan 10, 2021 : Those are compression artifacts. Not screen tearing. Usually a result of compression for smaller Filesizes.

Tokolozi , Jan 10, 2021 : You can upload them to a sharing website like imgur for example. But I think what you see as "tearing" really is just compression artifacts. Most streaming services heavily compress their content for mobile devices to stream efficiently
