Often during calls the proximity sensor does not recognize properly and the screen does not turn off during calls properly. Plus, if notifications arrive during the call, the phone vibrates, which is quite annoying

I have this problem too, i´m on OB12 but had it with OB11 and 10. I think the problem is with the Oneplus call app, I installed Google dialer app the problem does not come again.

Same for me. I have to ask people to hold on while I close all the settings that was opened by my face touching the screen. I noticed it especially when receiving a notification, for example a Whatsapp message.

    Same here.
During calls my state bar shows and I am "clicking" with my cheek the disconnect. Additionally the screen during the call is blinking like the phone was moving near the ear and back -- but is not, I am just trying to make normal phone call.
I have tried already the factory reset as it was proposed while problems after upgrade from android ver 6 to 7.

Probably a software issue regarding proximity sensor.

    Same issue here.

Very very anoying to have various settings disabled (by your cheek), so you have to check them all the time.

I have this as well, clean update with everything deleted (including userdata, coming from paranoid android). build number: ONEPLUS A3003_16_170610.

Could you please please please fix this one? It is so damn annoying to close the call, or to open various applications, or click on quicksettings tiles.

I submitted a bug report on this too. Unfortunately when I was investigating a solution it's been an issue for a LONG time. Below is what I sent back to OnePlus support when they asked for further information. Their questions in blue....

First: we’d like to know if clearing the cache from recovery could be helpful.
I doubt it, the phone has had the issue from day one using stable releases or Beta.

Second: Please tell us about the detailed issue and the reproducing process.
As I said in my post on the forum, it is very easy to make happen, I'm sure you could reproduce it yourself. But FYI here is some links to others with the same issue dating back to 2015 that might help explain it in a different way.
    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/screen-on-while-talking-on-phone.425021/
    https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/screen-doesnt-off-while-on-call-on-oneplus-two.366996/
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-x/help/help-accidental-touches-to-screen-calls-t3353746
    https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/proximity-sensor-issue-t3468748

To reproduce it have someone call you and talk to them not using hands free, then have someone else send a SMS, or if you have Facebook have them send you something so you get a notification. The screen will become active and that is when the problems start if you are still on the phone call because your cheek starts to activate functions...sometimes hanging up on the user.

Third: Can you please help us collect some logs so that we can look further into it?
I can do that if the information above does not help explain the issue or allow your engineers to duplicate it.

The logic behind how the screen should work when you are on a call I think should be:
If phone call is active and not in handsfree mode then the screen should stay 'off' even when new notifications come through.
I don't think it is an issue with the proximity sensor, it would just appear notifications are over-riding the proximity sensor. If the proximity sensor is detecting the phone is on someone's ear then notifications should be stopped from waking the screen.
