    hi,
    what I don't understand is when you said "you may need to adjust the pressure..." but the time it takes to try and try again to unlock your phone is much longer than using the schema I tried several times to add my fingerprint and I needed to try too many times it was taking time for nothing (and all was clear, finger and my screen)

    I can confirm it learns your fingerprint to get faster. I registered my thumb multiple times, and I registered my index in one slot.
    I rarely use my index finger to unlock my phone, almost always use my thumb.

    noticable unlocking speed difference comparing using my thumb vs using my index .

    Bought a oneplus 7 recently. There has been cases where my fingerprint got misread multiple times. Hope it gets better with time.

    @Dale F.

    I don't understand OnePlus anymore. Being a company that used to rely on customer satisfaction to a very large extent, why the shift from capacitive fingerprint scanner to in-screen fingerprint scanner, which is SLOWER and REQUIRES WAKING THE SCREEN EVERY SINGLE TIME (with either a push of the power button or double tap) before you can scan your fingerprint to unlock your device.

    The full screen with no notches goal is understandable, but why take the pain to push technology that is honestly half-baked at best? (It is slower, requires more effort than previous iterations, and a pain on the eyes in the dark.)

    The other alternative provided is OnePlus's face unlock, which just isn't that secure, to be honest.

    I'm far more impressed with the direction the S10e took, with a capacitive fingerprint scanner under the power button. Single touch unlock without the need for waking the screen. Plus it manages a few cool tricks like swiping on the scanner to draw the quick settings menu down, etc.

    it's been a week since I bought my new OnePlus 7 and I could already see how this learns to recognise my fingerprints over time. implementing AI in this really is a fantastic idea.
