SD card problem in ONE X

Formatting the SD in NTFS is for me still not the best solution, neither Clockworkmod or TWRP recoveries can read and/or write to NTFS - bootloader unlock + custom recovery would be priority jobs done to my OnePlus X.

I'm still tempted to sit tight for a while until a full solution is available before I buy.

So... #1 card was working in FAT system, but in read-only mode. Did you checked if it was not locked?

Bit rich from you, pal. What good is an SD card that I can't make nandroid backups to because NTFS write isn't supported by recovery?

Micro SD don't have a lock like a full size SD...

As the X doesn't support 4k recording I would think that any decent class 10 card will suffice for HD video recording / playback and burst-mode type photography.

One of these should fit the bill:

The card you linked up is a full size SD and won't fit a phone.

Sorry, yeah I initially linked up a wrong card. That is fixed now, and links to the correct one. My reasoning and interest in this lies in that I might use the same card for GoPro4/5 someday and want to be futureproofed for 4k recording, besides transfer speeds are great for dumping stuff to/from the card from PC..

This thread on the XDA forum discusses the best SD cards for use in the Galaxy S5 (same chipset as the OnePlus X but with 4k enabled)

it may be of interest for you. I appreciate you wanting to future-proof, but on the other hand there's no point in spending more than necessary.

As I pointed out in another thread, the microSD slot will become more important when Marshmallow will hit the X, introducing a wider range of usage to microSD card... So hopefully OP will solve any issue asap.

Thanks for the link. That's Samsung's a good card for the price, but transferring files at 90MB/s vs 20MB/s... Maybe the Samsung can work as a dump/backup card, but it's not a workhorse.

Yes, both internal and external storage..

It seems that in Marshmallow, apps and data (when configured as internal storage) can be seamlessly put on an external microSD card without having to be configured by the user. With proper, fast cards (90MBs anyone?), the phone's internal eMMC could actually be slower (Galaxy S5's eMMC 5.0 is only around 20/60MB/s)..

Maybe the PRO version would better fit your needs:
    http://www.XXXXXX
Up to 90MB/s Read (UHS-I Interface)
Up to 80MB/s Write (UHS-I Interface)

    Same here obviously :)
It seems that formatting to NTFS solves the problem at this moment. More later...

Went browsing some more, and it seems that Anandtech reviewed the S5 thoroughly (Same chip, same version of eMMC 5.0) and came out with these speeds for the internal storage:

    random read/write: 9 MB/s / 1.2MB/s
    sequential read/write: 109MB/s / 19MB/s

Storareview tested Samsung Pro Plus at:

    random read/write: 86MB/s / 4.7MB/s
    sequential read/write: 89MB/s / 83,7 MB/s

Waiting for someone to really give "The X" a whirl..

Hello to all. I received an invitation to buy a OPX which expires tomorrow, November 6 at 3 pm .... but a little reading this thread I have some doubts on the purchase. € 300 (including telephone and costs) are always € 300. I'm very undecided what to do. Sorry for my English
