I am a little upset with scout because they have now removed the feature of app categories on search. That one feature was quite handy for those who have a large number and categories of apps.

    Hello @Manu J. ,

Thanks for the update! This is undoubtedly a very cool feature, on paper. IRL, however my experience couldn't be worse. So much so that I am now wanting to switch back to the regular search bar, which atleast shows us the app we are looking for.

Scout requires a lot of fine tuning to be able to live upto OnePlus's FSE mantra! It sometimes does not show the app, even if the name has been entered correctly. Just to be clear, I like the tricks that it can do but it doesn't really make a difference if it cannot find the one app I'm looking for in the list of 255+ apps. (Yup, I need a lot of them)

Regardless, I love the idea but I don't think I can vouch for this feature until it works as intended.

    Good luck!

I genuinely find no use of this feature. I have tried being innovative with it, but it's too broad. I search for 'Hakka noodles' and I got options from some 'Yummy', 'Zee5', 'Amazon', 'Snapdeal' & 'Twitter'.

I was looking for the food. Despite having Zomato and Swiggy installed on my phone, these two options didn't turn up.

That's why I am saying, the OP Scout feature needs a lot of refinement and a better placement.
