    For @Carl and @Louis S. ,
is the removal/non-existent of the headphone jack a direction that OnePlus is heading? I mean would OnePlus devices never have it ever again? Is it just a T-devices thing?

What are the specific differences between the T-Mobile varriant and the OnePlus one?

How will updates be handled for both devices?

Could we flash unlocked OnePlus software w/o the T-Mobile branding when booting the device?

I know a lot of us have been asking for a built in screen recording which would also record internal audio(with the option to also record external audio),
because, currently, unless you are rooted, no apps on Google play can actually record internal audio.
I hope OnePlus is building/able to build one for us.

    @Carl

Any insights into future products like OP7 and 7t? Any new aims or directions the company is moving in? It seems like OnePlus is becoming more and more premium, will the price still be as competitive in the future as it is now?

    Love your work!

NO! First, you don't have enough separation to get a stereo image. The physics don't work. The only way to do it would be to have the speakers top and bottom, turn the phone landscape and then hold it about 6 inches from your face. Stereo speakers in a phone is just #hype. Second, why take out a headphone jack we can use and get decent sound from just to replace it with another crappy speaker??

The hardware is not the problem. All phones that support VoLTE will support it. The problem is AT&T. They give you a SIM that isn't provisioned for those features.

All you need to do is buy an AT&T phone with a new SIM, then "decide" to take the phone back for a refund. Keep the phone's SIM and put it into your OnePlus. Better yet, ditch AT&T.

Whats stopping you from installing one from Google Play? Why bloat the phone?

It's an issue with the Dash Charge chip. And don't be fooled. Most phones can't sustain anywhere near USB 3 transfer rates since the USB data and flash are normally on the same bus.

@Carl you and Pete have created the most innovative under dog in the industry, the OnePlus 6T is an amazing feat of engineering; how do you look at your current phone and say you need to improve it? The OP6 was incredible, so how do you look at that and then refine an already great phone?

obviously the OP6T is its successor, so how did you make it?

    thanks!

    Re: Glass

Wireless charging isn't the only wireless thing a phone can do that is disrupted by metal! Your phone does a lot of things wirelessly. Earlier models just routed the antennas through the back. But ... things had to be changed.

It's because the SD845 supports Gigabit LTE which needs a 4x4 MIMO antennae array. This is too many to try and squeeze into "antennae lines" through the aluminum and onto the back of the phone. It would be a development/engineering nightmare.

So ... getting rid of the metal back lets your WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, and LTE signals through. Its either glass or plastic.
