sharpie phone cases

So, I was trying out a phone case that I decorated entirely with sharpie marker freehand. It cost about a pound so not losing much, and I wanted to see what sharpies were like before I tried doing something more time intensive and using a better quality of case.

the sharpie actually sticks really well. It does smudge a bit but only when I really tried to smudge it and only immediately after drawing it on (see top right, had to work hard to smudge it even that much).

Spent about five minutes on it, which is why nothing is central and the proportions are out of whack. Still I think the overall effect is really nice (the sharpies, especially the metallic silver and gold) show up really really well. I'm definitely going to try with a clear case now to make a far neater and more in proportion case.

That's pretty great! Too bad I'm artistically challenged so I can't make my own.

That looks great!! If you find that the color starts wearing off you can just spray a little of hair spray on it (from far away so that it only sprinkles a bit) and it will prevent smudges or light scratches on it. I've found it helpful with other similar projects that I've done :)

Even my grandmother can do that, but that looks better than my granny's work. I will give that a 10 out of 11.

Yeah I've got anti-smudge spray for pastels that I've used for art projects before, I imagine that might work quite well as well. My plan for the proper cases though is to buy clear ones and draw the design on the inside of the case, so it ends up between the phone back and case and won't rub off in a pocket.

The problem with printed images stuck behind a clear case is they just look flat.
