The phone replaced both the camera and the video camera to many. I also like to take photos and videos on the phone. From my observations I need to transfer the photo files to the computer. So the phone will be easier to work.

I made photos with my OnePlus 8 I just received ... horrible. The standard camera software applies so much modifications (apparently combining multiple images, blurring, smearing, ...) this is a crop of 3 photos I took. Only the last one is ... let's say acceptable. The rest is not acceptable for a smartphone in that price range.

    Facts about OnePlu 8 camera:
    * Normal mode applies way tooooo much modifications to the images
    * RAW mode only works with the main camera (should have 48 MP) but shoots only 12MP photos.
    * The massive modifications can not be turned off (to my knowledge)

Any suggestions on how to make proper photos that are acceptable? The raw photos show that the hardware is capable. but the default camera software is ... very bad. I would love to try gcam (was suggested a coulple of times) but I am relatively new to android and did not find it in the play store. Can anyone help?
