    You are right.🖐️

You can break the common rules of photography to bring a unique photo.
But first you should know that rules exist.
The rules are guides to improve composing skills.

And there are many (more than 10) composition rules so you always break some rule and almost all good photos follow some rule.

What a great theme @cdnfarmer, congratulations on taking the lead for August. I'm so happy with this month's theme, I'm currently on holiday with my family currently traveling through Norway (yup, I'm following my true Nord/North) so there's lots of water and landscapes to photograph. I would love to post three pictures each week of a different part that we've visited and today I'll start with a little town in the south of Norway: Mandal. Every time we visit Norway Mandal is one of the spots we visit first, including this year. There's a great viewing point (called Uranienborg) where I've shot these photographs:

Modern buildings and typical Nordic style houses blend very well together. This is the last part of the river before it meets the sea.

I've shot these pictures in the morning and the sun was hitting those white houses perfectly. I love how those rooftops pop out.

Most of the time I'm shooting in landscape orientation, but with this bridge right in front I wanted to try something else.

All the photographs are: #ShotOnOnePlus6T (McLaren edition)
Camera app: switched a lot between stock and Gcam, sorry I'm not 100% sure...
    Editing was done with: Snapseed
    Resized the photographs using: Yalmco

There's this very particular lake I love to walk around, so I decided to try my hand at this contest by taking some pics there!

Here's my first picture! Here, I tried to align myself with the shoreline to give it a sense of balance.

In this one, I put the bridge off center enough to where it isn't the main focus, but it's still slightly centered to be one of the dominant features.

This is my last one, I tried to set the table off to the side to emphasize the lake and treeline more.

All of these were shot on my Oneplus 6t, and edited in Snapseed; any recommendations are welcome!
