Brady R., Jul 12, 2019 at 3:00 PM : The US Women's soccer team recently won the FIFA Women's World Cup! When we heard that the parade was only going to be a few streets away from our office, I knew we had to go. I figured this would be a great excuse to talk about soccer on the forums. Besides the World Cup games, I also follow English Premier League, MLS and Italia Serie A. The atmosphere in the Canyon of Champions was rowdy, one of the coolest parades I've been to in recent years. Ticker tape (used to transmit stock price information on Wall Street until the 1970's) fell from the skies, making for some scenic shots. The women's team has some phenomenal players, and it's cool to see them finally get some mainstream recognition this year. I got to see one of my favorites, Alex Morgan, pop open a champagne bottle. She was the one who famously celebrated by drinking tea when we creamed England (sorry @Pym C. ). Megan Rapinoe was also awesome, winning the Golden Boot for scoring the most goals out of the whole cup. I personally was moved by the story of Rose Lavelle, who scored a crucial goal on her own in the second half of the finals game against the Netherlands (which we won 2-0). I was watching an interview where she said something along the lines of how going to the world cup was never a dream for her - it was something she always knew she was going to do. Super inspiring to see that her intense work ethic and belief in herself ultimately paid off. I thought this last picture was fun. Just @Malindi S., casually posing like a model with the OnePlus 7 Pro Almond. All jokes aside, did you watch the Women's World Cup this year? I'd love hear your favorite moments.
