Dear photo friends,
Welcome to 2020.
As it is December 31, while I am writing this, please allow me to put this intro short. This will be the first contest for 2020, and at the same time, kinda the last SOOP as we know it, as from February on the contest part will change a bit. This takes some effort from different teams, and hopefully will be ready next month.
This month´ theme is
Water in different shapes
and all physical states. Water is snow, its also waves on the beach, it can be ice cubes in a whiskey glass (or was it whisky?), or steam from a locomotive. Pretty wide. Water is always adding a plus to a scenery, and gives us photographers a wide range to be creative. It can be really hot ;-)
Remember, this is an official OnePlus contest, and there are rules.
- 3 pictures max. per post
- 3 posts max. in the whole month
- all pictures have to be your own work and have to be taken with a OnePlus device
- all pictures have to be taken in this month
- all pictures must contain water as main subject
- the specific device has to be named
Please also state any editing software, or other hardware (extra lenses) if used.

In the early Shot on OnePlus opening posts I always asked: what is a photo?, and tried to talk about that. Know what: I still am asking myself the same question. Its not easy to find one single answer.
One answer I can give is, a photo is definitely a capture of a moment. So, with that in mind, take your phone, go outside, and move yourself to a place where you can find or create that special moment that is worth to be shared with the world. Don´t just click randomly on the shutter button. Sense the world around you, see what is there, choose your frame, wait for the good light, or shadows, play with perspective, balance the items in the frame, and then - click. Capture the moment. Then you might get a good picture, and when it contains water, post it here in the contest.
All the best for the new year.
Lets safe the planet, and have fun in the photography section,
