Is it June already? Time flies when you are having fun.

Welcome to another month of Shot on OnePlus contest. Thanks @script for this opportunity to be the host this month. I'll share with you my vision of photography, hope you all like it.

    What is a good picture?

That is a difficult question to answer because for me it is a very personal opinion. Luckily we are all different and photography is a personal way of expressing how you look at the world around you . And that is why it is such a beautiful thing : always different, always inspiring .

My kind of photography is mostly capturing moments. I am terrible at taking portraits or shooting details. I just walk around and try to get that moment. I love to hunt down some sunsets and look for reflections
I included some shots i took with my OnePlus phone (3T-6T).

I will share some tips and tricks that i find important to get a good picture. As i said these are just some ideas , feel free to agree or disagree :)

    Framing, finding the right angle.

A slightly different angle can change the whole picture. Included is an example to prove that different angle can make a big difference. All 3 pics are taken at the same location, i just moved my camera lower and higher to have a different image and for the last shot i just waited for that bike to pass by.

I loved that location because of the lines on the road. Leading lines can be found everywhere and are pleasing to the eye, they give pictures that little bit extra.
    - Vertical lines in a photograph add tension to the scene, strength and stability
    - Horizontal lines provide a sense of calm
    - Diagonals brings energy and a sense of dynamics to the frame.

    Light

One of the most important things in photography, different light can change the whole scene. So if you find a nice location for some pictures try to shoot at different times of the day, you will get a totally different picture. My favorite time is around sunset, when the sun gets low, the light gets a nice golden touch and the shadows are longer.
I found a great example in the May contest ,taken by @bluefog. Same location but all with a different light around sunset.

    Some other tips :

    - lower your camera if you like to capture an amazing tree or massive building, it will make it look even more impressive. ( leading horizontal lines)
    - shoot raw in pro-mode when you want to edit your picture afterwards, you will keep most of the details.
    - take 100 pictures to keep just 2 or 3 at the end.
    - level your horizon por favor. Should be the first thing you check before you share your pictures.

And last but probably the most important advice: have fun and be creative. Play around, learn by doing and get to know your camera.

Enjoy June and I am looking forward to see your shots. Will be another amazing trip around the world of OnePlus users, bring it on !

The usual info on the contest part

    1) As usual, a big thank you to @ajshanker for hosting the May thread. You gave some super helpful tips and comments, all your posts and comments were a pleasure to read.

    2) I am personally very happy to have Maarten hosting this month´ thread. I must confess, I like, better, love his pictures very much. ;-) (and after reading your opening post, I am even more happy.)

    3) For the contest, some important words.
    • Any content submitted should be your own work and shot on a OnePlus device. Any pictures submitted shall be taken in this month, June 2019. Please do not post older pictures from former times.
    • Ps. If your pictures where taken in the last week of the previous month (May 2019), they are valid for the June contest thread. Ofc you can post them only once, either late in May, or early in June. Not two times in both months.
    4) As the OnePlus 7/7Pro are now the newest phones, we like to encourage the OnePlus 7/Pro users to share their photos in the contest thread as well.

Important: all users need to state the used OnePlus device clearly in their post.

    5) The prizes for June are 7 Bullets wireless 2.

    6) The winners from last month will be announced in ca 10 days. Ofc, after the EXIF data has been checked!

My first shot of June takes advantage of the OnePlus 7 Pro's HDR to capture the dramatic storm clouds framed by a building and tree.

Congrats @maarten_lisboa for hosting this month.
Great work as always @script this month prize is wow.

@cdnfarmer I use the rule of thirds.

The below photo is take on May 28, 2019

    IMG_20190527_215807-03_001.jpg

    Device : OnePlus 6T
    Camera app : Google camera
    Mode : Nightscape
    Edited with : Snapseed
Object : Hotel I was staying in during vacation.

Some details of the photo : The photo was taken by siting on edge of swimming pool. The structure was nicely reflecting in the swimming pool water.

The photo was edited with Snapseed to pop up the colors to ensure what I could see with human eyes could be seen in photo too.

The photo was compressed with @hennes compression app Yalmco.

No, i mean to post your pictures so that everyone can see them right away, without an extra click on the link. Like you had done before in your first post, which you deleted later.

    Very nice picture, btw

This was shot using NightScape, handheld. No ProMode, No Tripods involved. For a lot of OnePlus users there, if you feel that the NightScape shot is overexposed. Next time when yo try clicking at night, tap on the subject on your phone's screen, ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS level, decrease in case the picture yo clicked was overexposed and shoot.

Thankyou so much. It was clicked on the last week of May. I read the rules (only pictures captured in the month of June to be uploaded) after uploading all pics and had deleted later on. Checked the updated rules (PS) and uploaded! Hope it counts. I'm sure there'll be lot of best one's from OnePlus 7 Pro and other users. Not sure if it's gonna be easier or not for late comers, But I'm sure it's not gonna be easier for the one who's in the selecting committee. [e]1f603[/e]
