maarten_lisboa, May 22, 2019 : pic by @Kimiduta Is it June already? Time flies when you are having fun. Welcome to another month of Shot on OnePlus contest. Thanks @script for this opportunity to be the host this month. I'll share with you my vision of photography, hope you all like it. Last month´s thread: Shot on OnePlus May The amazing compression app: YaImCo Google Cam Port: Google Camera Ports for OnePlus 3/T, 5/T and 6/T and 7/Pro New permanent link: the Rule of Thirds. Thx to @cdnfarmer for finding it What is a good picture? That is a difficult question to answer because for me it is a very personal opinion. Luckily we are all different and photography is a personal way of expressing how you look at the world around you . And that is why it is such a beautiful thing : always different, always inspiring . My kind of photography is mostly capturing moments. I am terrible at taking portraits or shooting details. I just walk around and try to get that moment. I love to hunt down some sunsets and look for reflections I included some shots i took with my OnePlus phone (3T-6T). I will share some tips and tricks that i find important to get a good picture. As i said these are just some ideas , feel free to agree or disagree Framing, finding the right angle. A slightly different angle can change the whole picture. Included is an example to prove that different angle can make a big difference. All 3 pics are taken at the same location, i just moved my camera lower and higher to have a different image and for the last shot i just waited for that bike to pass by. I loved that location because of the lines on the road. Leading lines can be found everywhere and are pleasing to the eye, they give pictures that little bit extra. - Vertical lines in a photograph add tension to the scene, strength and stability - Horizontal lines provide a sense of calm - Diagonals brings energy and a sense of dynamics to the frame. Light One of the most important things in photography, different light can change the whole scene. So if you find a nice location for some pictures try to shoot at different times of the day, you will get a totally different picture. My favorite time is around sunset, when the sun gets low, the light gets a nice golden touch and the shadows are longer. I found a great example in the May contest ,taken by @bluefog. Same location but all with a different light around sunset. Some other tips : - lower your camera if you like to capture an amazing tree or massive building, it will make it look even more impressive. ( leading horizontal lines) - shoot raw in pro-mode when you want to edit your picture afterwards, you will keep most of the details. - take 100 pictures to keep just 2 or 3 at the end. - level your horizon por favor. Should be the first thing you check before you share your pictures. And last but probably the most important advice: have fun and be creative. Play around, learn by doing and get to know your camera. Enjoy June and I am looking forward to see your shots. Will be another amazing trip around the world of OnePlus users, bring it on !
