script, Sep 30, 2018 : cover photo taken by @maarten_lisboa from here Hi and Hello, This is our new monthly Shot on OnePlus thread, to hold all your best photos, videos and other media that were taken with your OnePlus phone, as a heir of our greatest Mega photography thread. Last month' thread: Shot on OnePlus September Compression app: [APP] YaImCo - Yet another Image Compressor What is a picture? It is a decision! A decision we have to take. Not when we take the pic, we can take 50 pics of the same thing. No. It's a decision which of those 50 pics we show. We at first should be able to judge which of our own pics is the best one, and then post only that. Not 5. Not 3. Only 1 pic is enough. Or has anyone heard of 13 versions of (I can't get no) Satisfaction? I usually take a few pics every month, and always more than one from a scene. I end up with 5 or 200 similar pics then. All are nice. But only one is the best. So I started to forget the semi-best. And show only one. Maybe an idea for you? Also one of our best photographers posted some thoughts in the same direction. Its always good to learn from others. Enjoy reading TibiTibi´s post. We have many great new threads this month. Where to start? @Bouncer71 gave us another supergreat tutorial about additional lenses. A must read. Having Fun with Lenses By the way, did you know that you can click on the different tags in front of the threads in the photography section and then see only the threads with the same tag? This way you can easily find and browse all theme threads, tutorials, discussion or other threads. Its super great. One of the many untold contributions David Y. made when the new section was designed in the beginning of this year. @Joel Jacob hosts superbrilliant photo threads in the indian part of the forum. You should definitely go there and have a look. Best of Shot on OnePlus Academy: Chennai @Trista W. started a new official OnePlus photo competition about travel photography. All of us take picures while travelling, and there you can post them and even win something. Please, read the intro post and follow the rules. Shot on OnePlus: Part 7 – Your Favorite Travel Photography! The two best new threads in the photography section are really very special. Many of you have heard of the mystical google camera port. And yes, this camera app is very interesting. But where and how can one find the actual best link to the best version for exactly my device? How can one understand the hundreds of pages in the XDA threads? Yes, it is difficult. But not any longer! @tide1109 started an overview thread with absolute all the needed info and download links, and he even updates the thread every time any new info is given. That is the first of my personal greatest threads of the month. Here: Google Cam Ports for OnePlus 3/T, 5/T and 6 Thank you very much, Tim Now we come to the other best thread. Its a jewel. @cdnfarmer from Canada has started it, with the support of @Ruby G. , and I was happy to help a bit to create the final version. Its about passion. What more can I say? Its way bigger than ideas, or theory, or tech, or another look-how-cool-my-car-is-posts. Its about what we really love to do and want to show and explain to the community. Its about life itself, and about us, the community members of our forum. I simply love this thread. Go and enjoy it, and contribute with your stories. Its here: Photostory: Show your hobbies or passions in 8 pictures Thank you farmer from Canada. At last, thank you for giving your votes in my poll about using 16:9 as a given option in the OnePlus camera app. Almost 85 percent of the voters want to use 16:9 as one of the standard formats. I hope @David Y. or @Crystal Z. read this and (hint hint) show it to the developers team;-) Ready to go? Great! Share your best work with us, and let us know which phone was used and camera settings or filters used as it may help our friends on the forum. (ex. OnePlus 5T Stock camera - HDR, OnePlus One - Camera FV5 - iso 100 - 1/6 shutter) If you are a Community app user, please note that the app will automatically resize your photo. If you are a Community website user, please note that file sizes may be to large to post as size is limited to 2mb in which case you'll have to shrink your image size. Photo & Picture Resizer and Snapseed both are great apps from play store to resize photos. Check here to learn more about How to upload photos. Alright, we're good to go. Can't wait to see your best shots! Cheers, script Notice: Please note that single photo threads opened elsewhere on the forum will be merged with this thread.
