    Dear friends,

I own Oneplus 7Pro 8/256 since 2019, so its been 3 years and thinking to upgrade to newly launched one 9RT.

I would like your support or suggestion to let me know if i should go for this upgrade. Looking at multiple delays in Oxygen OS upgrades throughout the 7Pro years, should i keep faith in OnePlus for this newly launched one?

I came to know it may give only 2 Major updates unlike 3year Major update for 7Pro. Please advise.

Hi there, what and wherever you came to know about 2 major updates does it have a official statement/Source? No right.

Second, OnePlus 9Rt comes with Google Communication suite which notifies that call is being recorded. Not many are comfortable with that because others privacy doesn't matter to many.

On the software thing, there are no delays because there are no ETAs. As per the schedule, security update is rolled out every 2 months. So again you need to introspect your sources.

Finally, do a quick comparison of specs of phones and you wil know hardware wise status.

    Cheers.

Yes the source are basic YT videos of reviewers. I have never received 2months update as scheduled, atleast not for OP 7pro.

Specwise all looks good and within the budget for me. I mean its not SD Gen1 but SD888 is also not downside to own in 2022.

I had a similar thoughts.. is one olus as brand a sinking ship...what if 2 years down the line there is no difference between one plus and oppo...as though they are not as price sensitive with up coming models....so just stopped myself from buying it in amazon sale and will wait and watch for some more time to decide if i can shift to samsung 21 fe

The only downside for me is Buggy releases by OP and S21FE is too pricey for absolutely no reason.

It should cost similarly to OP 9RT but 50k+ in india isnt justified for it.

That is the cost of regular updates...

Even my old Samsung S10 gets monthly updates without fail.

What OnePlus does in the future with their software or business.... nobody can predict.

Ok , i dont know where are you getting your lines from but Regular updates arent available for OP. My 7PRo got android 11 after 6months of delay, its a fact as i am part of community of 7PRo.

If you go now and check the forum of 9ro latest Android 12 update(which is buggy) people are clearly mentioning Samsung next to google for software update(uodate that matters like security atleast)

    Lines ?
    Read my post again.
Can you understand the difference between an S10 and OnePlus ?

You buy a cheap phone , expect compromises in updates and other things like service.

I have OnePlus5 and the day purchased i wished to buy next one with OnePlus10. But current situation with OOS 12 doesn't looks great which is just color os with oos skin . I would suggest you to currently wait for few months so atleast have clear understanding with the direction company is heading to. Oneplus9RT is great , spec wise and with current discount offer it can be good for the price . If you dont have issue with current color OOS, you buy with the discount deal.

    Go for samsung buddy,
My mother purchased Samsung M30s on sept 2019 for 12k and it is on Dec 2021 security update.
And here my 70k OnePlus 9 pro is on Nov security update and still no ETA.

Very much depends on ur spending power or willingness to splurge on a mobile device.
I used to spend but have since taken a step back & opted for budget friendly ones like the current one. Cannot complain much because the price I paid is nothing compared to 9/9 Pro. said:
It's also cheaper with double the storage compared to what I paid for 4 years ago for my 5T.
Compared to S20FE, 9R cost way less from where I am with better built quality though I'm aware the camera is no match.

So you own 9R and i got to know Android 12 is still delayed.
My issue as said earlier is buggy software and delays, otherwise phones are good anyways(dont care about cameras, would buy a dslr instead)

Yes I'm not enjoying Android 11 experience on 9R as much as Android 10 on my 5T. But I can still live with it.
I have also learnt that OxygenOS 12 has removed certain features on 9/9 Pro which is sad....
But on the other hand, they are splitting the Ring & Notifications volume...something which is highly important for me.
