OxygenOS Should I stick with Oxygen, downgrade back to CM13 or upgrade to Lineage?

I helped a friend of mine repair her Oneplus One. Her screen wasn't responding to touch gestures on the lower half of the screen. At the same time we had the repair shop replace the battery.

When I got the Oneplus One back, we weren't getting the battery life of a new battery. Before returning phone to the repair shop I would like to try changing the OS (It's on Oxygen 2.1.4). Should I downgrade to CM 13, stick with what I have or upgrade to Lineage?

    Hi there,

Oxygen OS on the OnePlus One is far from what Oxygen is today. At this point, your best bet is going for Lineage OS, which is currently far more up to date than any of the alternatives.

Both Oxygen 2 and Cyanogen are pretty well outdated at this point. I'd go for Lineage since it will be based on a much more recent version of Android. It'll feel like a completely new phone when you give it back to her. Should have better battery management too.

Most of the few OPO owners I know they use Lineage OS so I see no reason not to try it.

It's what is currently installed on mine, though I don't really use it anymore. My dad was using it as a 4G router.

Not really..I am using AOSP Extended 8.1 on my OPO which is very stable and getting things done with ease. But I am too considering upgrading it to Lineage 16 but still holding myself back for few more days till Lineage get to a stable point with all the features working.

I was talking about the people I know, obviously they could be alternatives as your way.

Thanks to this thread, just decided to order a battery and a microphone daughterboard to fix the device. Might end up using it as a daily driver out of fun once the new OnePlus device is out, to make a 5-year long term review and comparison.

I have 2 OPO, one sandstone black JBL edition with color os and one white 64gb with cm 12. Unique devices, red batteries, still use the red JBL earphones bundled, that they sound amazing! I like to keep them, maybe one day I will make a big post with all the ones I got these years!
