The main problem with 5G is not the phone but the infrastructure. By the time 5G became mainstream, you should be already on your way looking for new smartphone.
In certain countries, you might be even waiting for another 10-20 years until you get good 5G coverage.

    Not correct.

The Snapdragon 765 has an integrated 5G modem.

The 865 uses an upgraded external one called the X55.

If it still is usable, try to hold on to it another 6 months and go for the op8-series :p

Thanks for correcting me didn't know that :) But even if it is external all the 865 chips will come paired with the modem right? If they made it an external modem i wonder if there will be a 4G only model too for cutting costs in places where 5G won't be coming soon.

T-Mobile has already launched nationwide 5G in America. So i don't think it's going to take that long to be implemented in other countries as well.

Also 10-20 years is an overly exaggerated estimate, 5G should start rolling out after mid 2020 in most developing nations. It doesn't have to reach actual 5G speeds even a marginal increase over 4G would be worth it and they can go on eventually adding higher frequency towers over time.
