Should I wait on installing 38r

Just got my phone yesterday, and it urged me to update, but so far I have only heard bad things about 38r. So, should I wait, and is it possible to just wait for them to resolve it and then download the latest OTA?

Personally, I'm gonna stick with 33r and Franco's Kernel for a while :)

I would wait. It looks like cyamogen stopped the update as there was too many bugs. Luckily I didn't get it

33R is a douche of an update...updated from stock 25R and 33R is a drunken idiots attempt at making the OS as bad as possible. Seriously wtf were they trying to achieve?????

Yes. CM Is getting worse. First there was 30O and 33R with battery life issues, and cold screen. Now with 38R it's removing features like calibration, and many bugs like raw camera crash and lockscreen crash, touchsreen bugs. I rolled back to 25R . Long live 25R

Honestly I am running 33r out of the box and it's actually running like a boss. And battery life is great. 12h on light/moderate usage, with 33% left. Not sure if screen is cold but looks great.

No problems with 38r so far .. except 4 installation - I had a corrupt download file I guess due to wifi interruption (update process failed: signature verification failed, 2nd attempt with new download was successful). I had to reinstall custom recovery TWRP (maybe wrong options in development settings) and after that reroot.
    Cheers

That's not good battery life at all compared to 25R. I was getting 3days use with light usage and still having 13% remaining. So sorry man i know you havent had any different but 12hrs on light to moderate use isn't great battery life at all.

38R is great for the majority of people, but there is a vocal minority with issues. Go for it. 25R, 30R and 33R have serious outstanding issues as well as security vulnerabilities whereas these are patched in 38R.

Just got the OTA for 38R about an hour ago. So far so good. No touchscreen issues and I am seeing about 6mA of current draw on idle (compared to ~30mA on 33R). I would say go for it!

I was wondering if it had been stopped since I haven't seen a system update. There have been so many bugs reported I wouldn't be surprised.

Thank you for posting this! I've been trying to find an up to date thread about whether I should go with 38R when mine finally gets here. lol

No problem ☺, it would seem that some people share my fear, such as yourself, which is why I found it important to ask. Guess we will just wait it out until they have fixed the bugs.
