Should OnePlus ditch OxygenOS?

Alot of ppl like stock android, including myself. I've always disliked the clutter and duplicate apps that you get when you have skins like that on Samsung and LG. There are many benefits to having stock android as well, (quicker loading times, quicker updates, buttery smoothness, ect...)
Like the essential phone, I think OP should join the Android One team, or at least make oxygenOS more stock. Maybe they could give an option to use stock android when purchasing a phone.
    Thoughts?

I have used stock Android on Nexus devices in the past. OOS is far superior in my opinion.

    Absolutely not.

The UI of OxygenOS is designed to make it look very close to stock android, which is appealing to people who love stock android.

On top of that, OxygenOS brings several extra functions that delight the user experience (eg. game mode). These are visible functions that already take over stock android.

Plus, under the hood, OxygenOS implements lots of apps optimizations that help the hardware and software to be work more efficiently so that the performance is better than stock android. Although we cannot see these effort by the team but these work and optimizations indeed make OxygenOS a good OS but not just a UI.

Stock Android gets laggy after a couple of updates. My Nexus 5 was noticeably slower within 8 months like any other Samsung. OOS is as fast and smooth since the day I got it. I like CAF based ROMs in general.

But Oxygen OS is stock Android with some extra features and it is butterly smooth, has quickest loading times, and relative fast and frequent updates. You clearly don't know what you are using

I don't agree with you. Compared to Samsung and other brands customized os, Oos is soo good and only have essential additional features unlike other brand's customized os *cough bixby cough*and lots of bloatwares. Oneplus have like no bloatwares out of the box and the few apps like amazon can be uninstalled if you don't need that. I love Oneplus oxygen os and if you need stock experience try out the custom os out there

OnePlus don't need to go for Android one, Oxygen far more superior than Android one with extra OnePlus optimization and customization, When it comes to updates OnePlus still delivering on time, for example OnePlus launched Android Open Beta before the Android one phone's and still Android one phone's didn't get the Android pie

OxygenOS is pretty much as close to stock Android as you can get on an OEM skin. Plus, unlike many other OEMs, the features that OOS adds are actually useful
