[Submitted] Shutter sound still there after deactivating shutter sound

    Try this: Pull your SIM card, and then see if you can take pictures with no shutter sound.

    Edit to add: after pulling your SIM, restart your phone before testing the shutter sound.

    If that works, it means that silencing the shutter is not allowed in the region/country defined by your SIM. Some places have laws forbidding a silent camera in order to protect people from being photographed without their knowledge.

    Maybe it's just enforced in Pie. Google is getting tougher on these kinds of things.

    There is no shutter sound on removing the sim card.. but as soon as I insert the sim there is shutter sound again..
