I am facing slow speed on my oneplus 6 compare to other devices. I have 5t also and I compared both speed but the speed on my oneplus 6 is very slow compare to 5t.
    Anyone else facing same problem?
Is this a hardware issue or software?

Yes, same with my Op 6 With both Airtel and specially Jio...Don't know why this happening. My previous Honor was giving good speed than OP 6.

I had a issue where my 5t had slow network speeds. then I booted into recovery and reinstalled system files and it worked perfect after that.

Yep, something is wrong with your provisioning, most likely, or a cached value for your network is corrupt.
I'm on 5.1.11, and just ran a test (first in awhile), and I'm getting 63/13, and a second test was similar (67/12) enough. Obviously, I'm on a different network (AT&T, US), but we're running the same OS/firmware.

I haven't (purposely) re-provisioned my phone, or flushed my system cache, since before the 5.1.11 build, just an FYI, in terms of diagnosis.

I'd be flushing everything I could find, in terms of network, and see if things improve, I suspect you have a bad DNS entry, or similar.
I'd also be calling my carrier, and asking them to force a re-provision, which sometimes requires talking to a tier-2 tech, but often the tier-1 people know too, it just depends.

You can see further evidence from the person who switched from "Tele2" above, obviously this forced a FULL re-provision, and then everything was fine.
There are ways to force a re-provision yourself, but usually it's just easier to ask a tech at your carrier to do it, and it often fixes this issue (since the re-provision will cause all the old values to be flushed, by default, sort of a "super reset" for your LTE network).

I had a similar issue with MetroPCS LTE . The problem was the phone had the Parent Company T-MOBILE APN setting as the default. Once I input the correct APN setting speed had improved.
