Slow Stuttery Scrolling via OnePlus 7 Pro

  1. G_Tom_Barnes_mqCA , via OnePlus 7 Pro , Nov 22, 2021 :
Just swapped over from the 7 Pro to the 9 Pro and have noticed a significant lag/frame drop when scrolling through certain apps. YouTube is the worst offender so far but even the settings app seems stuttery in comparison to my OnePlus 7 Pro. Has anyone else had this? I've completed all the outstanding updates now and still see the issue. I've also tried both a complete clean reset and also a reset with a copy over from my 7 Pro with both having the same issue.

Right now the 9 Pro is back in its box ready to go back..

You can use an ADB command to force 120Hz constantly. That's or AutoHz, but I'm not sure of a way other than those to make it stick with apps it assumes needs a lower amount.

Thanks for the feedback. Although that sounds like a work around the scrolling is so poor that I can't believe nobody else has mentioned if this is what it is like as standard. I'm going to go back into my local store tomorrow to try the demo unit for comparison.

    Many have complained.
Might be worth checking out how it behaves with open beta 2. 12 is after all not far away.

I've tested they on my OnePlus 9, though that doesn't have an LTPO panel does it? It's been incredibly fun to mess around with

Yeah I spent ages trying to find a fix. I could fix the frame drops in certain apps by forcing them to use 120Hz but it didn't solve the slow scrolling issue. However, I think it is silly that I had to essentially modify the original software to make it any better. The phone should be smooth out of the box and this is why I decided to return it. I really tried but as as soon as I switched back to my 7 Pro it was like I had picked up a newer phone when in reality it's 2 years old.

Really OnePlus lost the track now in software department I don't know it seems like they want to close the company. After Carl left he is working on new phone and here @Pete can't handle established company because of the shitty decisions lack of interest. Still there is time if OnePlus wakeup otherwise end is near. No one will pay this much amount for the crappy things.

Why should apply any command I have not paid for the device for tweaking. It should work perfectly out of box.

Ya dude i agree with you but if you run adb command then you can force 120hz on all apps but without running command only launcher and few other apps with run 120hz but remaining with run on 60hz. That's cause they call it smart 120hz

My question is why they are not giving it out of the box.also how can I individually check every app refresh rate any app for that you know.
