    With this new update there's a new tactic to gain information from users "legally" this time.. without proper concent.

    Writing this post because OnePlus won't disclose this in thier "Change Logs"

    By default above 2 checkbox were ticked by default "without my consent" and so be happing to every other 5/5T user who updates..

    For those who are privacy & data conscious, kindly have a note of this..

    Ps: I don't hate the phone. Its a beast as required, its the company I don't align with because of these cheap tactics & refrain from giving a word of mouth if anybody asks for suggestions. Brace yourself Op6 users.. [e]1f64c[/e]

    Those options appeared after the 5.1.1 update..

    To confirm, if you're not already on 5.1.1 kindly check go Settings > Advanced and see if these 3 options exists..

    These check boxes do exist but they are not ticked by default. So no issue here

    We gotta do what we can.. Its near impossible I agree, knowing something we can do about it, shouldnt stop us from trying the best we can. Thats what I believe in..

    That feature use to send log all of errors happened and that options it will ask you when you set up your new phone even Apple and Microsoft do that.

    I don't know about whether these options get enabled by default when updating from a previous version, but I do know that it ask you about whether you want to share info with OnePlus when you set up your phone for the first time or after a reset. But honestly, I think everu user should be exploring every inch of the phone during the first few days to ensure they don't miss anything.

    Those will only be ticked if you enabled them before, it was under a separate section. You get prompted about these options during the initial setup of the phone.

    I'm not doing anything illegal or weird so I really don't care what these tech companies see. So what, they tracked my general behavior to make software or services better for the consumer. Doesn't really bother me at all.

    I am very much sure these were present in prior versions as well.
    They get checked by default if you set up your phone and say yes to participate in user experience program.
