As you probably know, version 6 is the latest flagship model from the OnePlus (of course you do). In this post, I’ll share some information and personal opinion on this particular device, and you will be able to see some of our pictures! But first, what’s in the box?

Almost all new flagships come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which represents the cutting edge of what the market has to offer, and the same chipset can be found in the OnePlus 6. The difference between other phones and this device in particular is that this device has a software specially developed in order to emphasize its speed. The OnePlus 6 executes all tasks instantaneously, and there are no downsides whatsoever when it comes to loading times, menu navigation, screen transitions or playing high demanding games – the device does it all in a blink of an eye!

The OnePlus 6 saw some minor changes in the OS, such as improved Game Mode, Notch support in display or application settings, Video Editor, some changes in the Alert Slider etc. Once again, OnePlus have made the perfect combination of hardware and OxygenOS, which brought the user experience up to the maximum. We handed this device over to several people in order for them to test its speed, and we have, for a fact, brought smiles to their faces!

Whenever new OnePlus devices’ charging is mentioned, we immediately think of the Dash Charge system! Why is this charging method special, you may ask? Because electricity dashes into the battery! Simply put, because it is remarkably quick, yet equally safe!

This fast charging method relies on stronger electrical current (VOOC system), which, for the users, is a much better option compared to the alternatives, because they can fully, to the maximum, use and abuse their device even when its charging, while other devices with alternative fast charging methods will start overheating raising battery damage risks quite high.

Speaking of charging, there is really a lot to say about the speed! From OnePlus, they say that the device will last a full day with only a 30 minutes charge. And it really will! Of course, it depends on how you look at it, since here we don’t think of 24 hours screen on time, rather of normal, day-to-day use of an average user. Full charge of the OnePlus 6’s 3300 mAh battery only takes around 80 minutes, which implies that this device can not only rival its competitors, but easily take the trophy!

Have you ever woken up and your device lacked battery life because you forgot to charge it over night? This exactly is the point – with this charging system your device will be ready to go through the day by the time you’ve had your morning coffee!

This is a great example of how much OnePlus are in front of the competition, because Dash Charge was introduced with the OnePlus 3.

One of the main news about the device that we’re speaking of today is the waterproofing – this device does not have an IP certification rating, but it could easily get one considering how well it performed. All in all, we’re really happy that we can safely use the phone when it’s raining with no fear of speaker malfunction due to water damage or anything akin to it.

Glass back as well as the Optic AMOLED front panel do not only serve a decorative function – which they nevertheless do – but they are also here to serve and protect. On the back, as well as on the front, we find Corning Gorilla Glass 5 technology which is, at the moment, the very best in terms of glass protection. This panel is strengthened by chemical processes which create a deep compression layer on the glass, but even after all these processes, the end result is a clean, smooth and crystal clear surface. (He protec, but he no attac!)

Snapdragon 845 is a chipset reserved only for premium devices. What does that tell us? This mobile platform is built in the 10nm technology, and it features astonishing Adreno 630 GPU, as well as Kryo 385 cores!

We have to mention UFS 2.1 dual-lane data transfer technology. This technology ensures simultaneous two-way data transfer, and this device, by employing it, achieves much better results.

Every modern smartphone needs to have a double camera setup, doesn’t it? OnePlus introduced this camera setup back in the OnePlus 5 device, where the second sensor was a telephoto sensor. On the next flagship, the 5T, it served to improve night time photos, but truth be told, these were not the best moves since camera performances were not expressed well enough. Learning from their mistakes, OnePlus have improved the system in a different way.

The main sensor has the same resolution, but the actual sensor size is increased a little, leaving more room for individual pixels which got increased from 1.12 to 1.22 µm. Optical image stabilization additionally helps to capture more light that enters through the opening of f/1.7 aperture. All this together leads to better lighting in low light environments, and OnePlus 6 now performs much better in the dark. We cannot say that the camera is at the very peak, but it is more than just good and it is perfectly suitable for a flagship device!

We haven’t forgotten about the other sensor either! Additional 20 megapixels are here to help out in portrait mode, gathering background depth information. On these photos we can see much more nicely separated photo subjects with no mistakes around tiny objects such as hair. If this is not enough, then we have one more vey important information for you. This device captures videos in 4K resolution at 60 fps, which is something we don’t see every day in flagship devices.

On the front side, OnePlus 6 boasts 16 megapixels selfie camera, which is the same one used in models 5 and 5T. It's pretty much standard camera we got used on, but on this phone it should get an portrait mode support with the software update! Anyway, time will tell, let's just be patient! Here is an example of the front facing camera, and the rear camera using Portrait mode!

In the model 6, OnePlus has, for the first time, opted for glass back, and mind you, not just any glass. On the back of the device we can see the panel that went through a great number of steps in order to look and feel unique and strong.

Beneath the glass there are 5 nanolayers which leave a sense of depth, transparency and purity. Other manufacturers only use two or three layers of coating, which means that their devices just cannot offer visual effects OnePlus 6 can.

Sadly, we have to say that mirror-like finish is a real magnet for fingerprints, not just on this device, but on any other as well.

Speaking of the purity of this device, what immediately strikes out mind its operating system. OxygenOS irresistibly resembles stock Android environment, but with many user interface customization options. Bloatware is an unknown category for this device. As we’ve already mentioned, the software is only of the best examples of how Android should be manipulated and installed on smartphones. Devices that have problems with their Android operating systems should return back to Symbian.

The first impression OnePlus 6 left on us is the feel of the device itself. Holding it gives a special impression unlike any other device. All the senses feel the device sitting in hand which is and indescribable feeling – almost as if the fingers sink into the back of the device.

Curved edges only add up to this feeling. The hand somehow morphs together with the device giving the feeling of holding a soft, natural element. Due to this, holding the device over longer periods seems effortless. You will feel the grip, but it is going to be „lightweight“.

Only when you have used the phone for some time, you notice how much attention has been paid to details, such as dented cutouts under fingerprint senor on silicon mask, or „designed by oneplus“ label on the edge of the mask. Did you notice it? We are thrilled not only with its design and material quality but with its entire system. Phone gestures allow for easier handling and get you the true 19:9 display feeling. Simple, yet practical. Not a fan of notch? Remove it easily with display options. Though you do get about 5 mm of edge from the above, due to excellent Optic AMOLED display, black color is reproduced well and notch won't bother your eyes anymore.

Some users do find camera the most important feature of the phone, or rather autonomous battery, but when it comes to speed OnePlus 6 is the sole top of the offer, both statistically and personally. We compared its camera to Huawei P20 Pro, and at first hand we can tell you that in most cases it captured more details what came as a surprise to us. If you take into account future upgrades that are yet to come, this is not the end of the surprises, as perfect camera will benefit even more!

What else might we add?! Fascinating speed, extraordinary performance, great camera, many customization options and long autonomy with DASH charge system make this phone currently the most desirable one, at least in the first half of 2018.
