Software Diffrence Between T-Mobile and Unlocked models?

I've seen a few videos where the unlocked model has a feature where you can hold on the fingerprint area after it unlocks and it brings up a menu you quickly open apps. I can't find this feature on my T-Mobile model. Does anyone know why this would be?

is this a difference in the T-Mobile models? or just something some phones haven't gotten yet.

Some phones are running a build ending in 181024 that have some new features my T-Mobile model is running 181001 says it's up to date and nothing is avalible. So I'm trying to see if this is because it's a TMobile model or if not all of them have gotten the update yet

The T-Mobile version is a little behind in software out of the box. The unlocked versions are getting 9.0.4, the T-Mobile version only has 9.0, it will take some time for T-Mobile to certify the software and push it out!

no way to download 9.0.4 anywhere? I just saw online that it is a launch day update so I don't know if we are waiting on T-Mobile or just it's not rolling out all at once. I don't think TMobile holds back updates normally they are quick

Yes, unfortunately T-Mobile has to certify to ensure that the software update will be best for the device and their Network. OP stated that they are working with T-Mobile to get updates out as fast as possible.

For clarification when ppl say 9.0 they are talking about Oxygen OS Version Number. the latest for the global version is 9.0.4 for tmo its still only 9.0, the build number on tmo is 181001 vs 181024 on the global

Its not available for TMO version yet, we can only hope TMO certifies it quickly, that being said it could take anywhere from a few hrs to weeks to months.

Will unlocking my OP from T-Mobile cause updates to come directly from OnePlus?

I have tried a few times to unlock my OP using the T-Mobile unlock app and it has failed Everytime saying it's not eligable. I don't know the exact requirements for unlocking but I bought my phone paid in full. Anyone know if you have to wait a certain amount of time?

Phone must be used in T-mobile for 40 days plus paid in full. You can get around both conditions if you are active military.

You will have to go to T-Mobile and they will place your device IMEI on a whitelist, once that is done the app will recognize it, worst case is that they will have to do it manually which can take up to a week.
