    Thanks @David Y.
Good to see good software support that's inline with Pixel, 2 major software updates and bug fixes and security updates thereafter is reasonable.

How is this the same as the OP2, explain the parallels cause I don't see it? OP2 had an extremely short software life cycle

This is a non-issue to be mad about. Both devices will have had two major software updates, by the the time support is stopped. Android N last December and Android O most likely this December.

It has become rule of thumb for every android device get two major software updates. Which OP3/3T will have gotten. Plus security patches and stability will be continued for the foreseeable future.

So one question. Do you want to be upgrading to Android U on a 2016 device? Or will you be upgrading with the times?

Yeah explanation pretty bland , last time I used lineage os, camera just sucked because there were no camera BLOBS for it, they should release it like they said they would by giving us an APP or the BLOBS, it would be the right move to make this phone Future Proof like OP advertised it.

No updates with no camera BLOBS it's the worst possible cenario, we should at least receive proper support to give us the possibility to have a good Unofficial support, this way you are doing things without releasing câmera BLOBS is just to try suck money from people because nowadays phones are not so slow anymore so updates are essential to maintain it's lifespan if not by official means at least give us the possibility to have good support on the future by releasing the câmera BLOBS.

it's exactly the same cuz op2 had a very short life span now the same is being done to the 3/3t as in terms of software

Why protest? Eventually the 3rd/3t will become inferior for beta features. I don't get why people are against this, surly you knew this would happen...

It is good that they will close it. At least they will not continue using the 3/3t people to test for op5. Anyway 3/3t are already neglected

This is unacceptable. So just one year of updates? If that's the case why make phones which such great specs if you're only going to get one year?

If they do the same with the OP5 I'm never buying from 1+ again.

Samsung as slow as their phones may be still get more updates.

OP2 got one major update and that was it, no beta updates and stable updates were sporadic.

OP3/3T have been getting stable updates every 2 months, were among the first to get Nougat, and get beta updates every 2 weeks. We're also getting Android O early next year definitely amongst the first and bug fixes and security updates in 2018. That's a lot of software support.

Use some common sense and stop claiming things you clearly don't understand. It's not about how you feel it's facts. Both devices are getting same treatment as Pixel the launch date of the 3T is irrelevant, it's the same as the 3 in almost every way and was simply a better alternative offered by Oneplus otherwise they could have continued selling the 3.

Pixel launched with Nougat and gets 2 major updates only. 3/3T launched with Marshmallow and get 2 updates. You also have an unlockable bootloader and tons of options after the software support ends in late 2018 or early 2019. I have flashed tons of custom ROMs and they all work just as good if not even better than Oxygen OS, currently on beta builds.

So, by your reasoning, OnePlus should have stopped developing phones after 3 (or 3T) altogether and concentrate on 3/3T till perpetuity? I think their 1 phone per year pace is quite good. 3 and 3T will get O as official OS and if you want more after that you can move on to custom ROMs.

After 2 years 3T is still very good phone but there isn't really sense in developing and maintaining official OSs to such an old device. People who don't care use it happily with O (or even N), people who swap phones like socks couldn't care less and those who care but are on tighter budgets - like myself - install custom rom at that point - and possibly find some other (cheaper) brand because OnePlus has decided to forget true budget phones but that's another discussion.. :)

Of course they should make a phone which would be awesome and best one on market forever but since that's quite impossible, the current situation is quite OK.

and because of beta updates phone has some issues, crashes and freezes. after that you need factory data reset eith internal. because on beta updating you can not install clean update, it is just rewrite
