Well... It's complicated...
First all previous devices had only one firmware.
Then EU firmware was born. AA was then Global and BA was EU.
Then Indian build was created within the global AA build and was activated only on Indian devices. Next gen phones had a completely separated Indian build but still called it AA. Next gen got a separate build tag. Indian DA was born.
Suddenly ALL AA builds was called NA since 8 series. But AA (NA) remains for the same region as before. Just a name change. Everywhere but China and EU and India.
So it's not strange that some confusion exists.
No NA only firmware exists besides carrier versions... But that's a slightly different thing...
