Soldering in an inductive charging coil internally.

    Hey guys,

I've been using my one with a USB inductive charging adapter. I'm coming from an S4 that has the contact points under the back cover for an inductive charger and I'm a little annoyed with not being able to use my USB port with this adapter. I was looking at the tear down of the on on ifixit and noticed that the USB solder points are easy to get to and are just covered by a piece of screwed down plastic. I'm thinking of soldering in a could under the back cover so that I may use my USB port without having to take my case off and unplugging the adapter. If there is enough interest here for this I can give it a shot and post a tutorial.

If anyone has experience with these types of mods I would be interested in hearing if you think it would effect the USB port for normal charging or usage. Since the USB port does not require grounded data pins for charging I can't see why it would cause any issues.

    Thanks for looking!

    [UPDATE]

Since all the comments below were super unhelpful, I got impatient and cut up my usb receiver I had been using. It works ok, but the back case seems to add either too much thickness or the antennae in the back that goes right over the receiver causes enough interference for it to be finicky. Once replacement backs are available I will probably cut a slot in one so the receiver is on the outside with the wires running inside.
I purchased the receiver I used on ebay here http://www.ebay.com/itm/310947772910?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 It says it's 750mA but when I took the rebranded sticker off it says 1000mA for the output. I plan on trying out the new ones I have on the way. Here's a gallary of the modification.

If anyone else is going to attempt this and has any questions let me know.

    UPDATE 8/19

Here is an album showing how I currently have everything working internally.

Yeah, I'm searching but I'm not finding anything besides dumb speculation. I think I'll order the part and post a how to about it unless I find this other thread.

Those are just usb adapters which I am currently using. I just ordered two 1000mA adapters that I will use. I ordered two in case I fubar one. The most experience I have with soldering on this level is when I installed two internal thumb drives on my dell venue 8 and these soldering points look much larger. I'll go ahead and update the post with pictures and progress once I receive the items. If I get impatient I may cut up the usb receiver I am using currently.

Yeah he just put the coil in a case and used the usb plug. He didn't open up and solder anything. I want to be able to have the usb port open while having the adapter internal. He is doing exactly what I'm doing currently.
